Yesterday I drove my Dad-in-law to the airport at 3am. Since that's when smurfs are waiting to catch teenagers coming back from night clubs, I tried not to be in a hurry, but drove just over the speed limit (that's hard when Dad is all nervous about me driving so slow). I took a slightly longer route with less lights (the short route has a permanent red light wave at night) and got 4.5 l/100km at the airport. Coming back I was alone, both in the car and on the road, so I took it really slooooow, 50-60 km/h in an 80 zone, yeah!! Back at home the comp said 4.2 l/100km for the round trip, so I must have been below 4 on my way back. The funny thing is that the time it took to get to airport at the speed limit was the same as the time it took get back, snailing along. I wish I could do 50 km/h all the time....

Woot! Below 4L/100km in that hulk of a vehicle!! looks like it takes your will power as a substitute for diesel...

Yeah, I have to try hard. Svietlana not only weighs 1.5 tons, but she's also the tallest sw in the parking lot (only vans and suv's are taller).

No, I P&G a lot, but no EOC. I tried a few times, but there is so much electronics, power steering, automatic lights, etc., that I don't feel yet feel safe about it. But I'll keep trying when alone.

Of course. That must be it! But we'll have to wait a month (when my next fill will come) to know for sure.

Hi,
I may have set a new high tank average: 48.3mpg! The caveat is I had to fill up at a station near my work, that I know stops filling earlier than my usual station near home.
I also have averaged over 500 miles on the most recent two tanks -- I'm going to see how long I can keep this up!

Hi,
I'm pushing up my mileage -- 49.4mpg for my latest tankful, and this makes 6 out of the last 10 tankfuls that were over 500 miles! The longest (so far) is 524.4 miles...

I got a little over 62mpg on a 303 miles trip up to Escanaba in my 02 TDI AUTOMATIC jetta, this is the second time in the low 60's Just drive a long slow trip with few stops and I mean drive slow
My electric car is up to 30miles on a charge using junkyard batteries.
24mpg in my 93 Gas suburban average over 800 miles Too bad it threw a rocker and is getting 16 now
