As Big Dave has said in other threads, I just wish they had gone with a conventional gasser drivetrain (ha ha, a Metro 1.0 style or Smart or Kei-Car engine?). You can make the argument that the body was so innovative that it should have been the focus of Phase 1. Then with Apteras toodling around in the real world, follow it up with an EV or Hybrid drivetrain in Phase 2.

I am guessing that zoltanbod is thinking along these lines. Aero + conventional gasser, with the option of following up with more exotic drivetrains down the line.

I see you are using the ecomodder album option :

zoltanbod's Album: Zoleco supermileage car

You can upload pictures and pictures of specs into the album to show your progress, and send people the URL.

Well Brucey, funny you should mention the kit car idea. This prototype i am creating will be quite a labour intensive car to put together initially until demand allows for a mass production assembly line scenario.Til then i hope there will be people who can afford the turn key version.A couple street rod type guys have said they would buy one in a flash if it was available as a kit. That is a good idea and i believe it is a good possibility that could happen. Thanks Zoltan.

Absolutely, I can and do appreciate the scope of such a project.

Here, unsugarcoated, are some of the parts that trouble me:

At first it was to seat four, later on it doesn't quite.

It's supposed to have an energy recovery system of some sort... well? What sort?

It's supposed to have modular options for different powertrains... well? What powertrains?

How fast is it?

How quick is it?

How many mpg does it give?

It's claimed to be aero, but we lack any supporting evidence, not even a frontal area value.

Sure doesn't look like it's going to be light.

Why use carbon fiber AND a space frame? Is the shell a structural member or not?

Why make body molds before a prototype has even run? Do you really think there will be no changes?

Some of the comments about where components are to be located make me question your understanding of chassis dynamics, especially as they relate to trikes.

As far as selling the concept, I thought the videos were sort of like Chinese water torture. What exactly is here that is supposed to make me want this over the Swift donor car???

Why are you going on about a venture when you have essentially nothing but a shell? Were I to follow through on my dream car build, I'd build it, refine it, have performance and other specs in hand, THEN THEN THEN hound everybody for "investing" and buying stratospherically priced initial builds. UNLESS, of course, all your interested in is grabbing start-up cash. Like Aptera. Moeller air car. Etc. Etc.

Hey, with this amount of vagueness you're gonna get the hard questions sooner or later...

frank, you can be on a forum and talk about how to do it and what the car manufacturers do wrong... or you can get off your arse and get a great start on something where so many others stop after making a drawing.

I could get off my arse

but I haven't for various reasons... or excuses.

Does that make my analysis wrong?

Are you in line to buy the first Zoltar?

your analysis is wrong.
the questions you're asking are for the serious investor who signs an NDA.

the questions you ask about the technologies are to be kept in-pocket, there's many options to choose from. and from the video, you can see that it may not be a concrete decision, yet.

from the video, this is clearly concept. he has learned a lot and will likely build a 2nd prototype similar, but greatly improved just on the lessons learned while building this first one.

questions about curb weight and speed? anything under 1200 lbs is a win when compared to a 1700lbs crx. -- since when did we worry about quickness or top speed?

your questions are reading too deep into 17minutes of video..
he is sitting on something valuable, weather it's selling cars or forms of patents that someone buys from him.

yes, i would look at this car if i could afford exotic cars.
