The Pinto might beat the Bug. The old air-cooled VW isn't the most efficient lump out there; it was built with very low compression ratios for one thing. It would be interesting to see, at the very least.

I do believe the Mini would beat both of those handily, though. Half the engine size of the Pinto can't but help...

Mini Cooper > VW (w/ 145s on the front and no bumpers or spare tire) > Pinto > Mini.

I had to look this up. Never heard of a Snyder, but I've actually seen these on the road. 70 mpg is pretty good!

Daihatsu Feroza. It's somewhat thirsty for its size, but still not as thirsty as a V8 gas hog of its days.
