What are your modding goals / resolutions / wish list for 2010?
So it's a new year. As 2009 recedes in the LCD rear view camera screen you installed in place of a side mirror last year , have you thought about what you'd like to accomplish this year?
Goals for the Firefly:
Goals for the ForkenSwift:
- basically I didn't do anything to it last year, so again everything on the 2009 list, plus...
- install tires with lower rolling resistance than the snows that are currently on it year-round
----
Did you accomplish your previous years' goals?

I was just working on the 2010 Ecomodding budget last night:
Little Blue: Only Three things...
Low RR tires and light wieght Wheels.
Lean Burn.
Aero Mods to drop Cd as close to 0.23 as possible.
Stretch goal is MTX swap.
Last summers average commute mpg was 43, next summers goal will be 55, with the above mentioned mods.
Last summers goal was to hit 45mpg on one tank for my commute. The best was 44.62. This winters goal will be to keep the MPG above 40 as much as possible.

190e:
Perfect Megasquirt tuning, convert to Ford EDIS ignition, replace the 4 speed auto with a 5 speed manual.
318i:
Just keep driving with it minimal expense. This car has been a trooper.
Volvo 850:
Cut the front springs to reduce frontal area, find some aerodynamic hub caps, replace the front coroplast panel underneath the engine.

Ooooh yay, these threads are always fun, especially looking back at previous years.
Last year my goals were 45 mpg 90 day average tank in my Toyota Matrix. In a way I suppose I achieved this. The Matrix was replaced by the Prius which averaged about 55 mpg all summer long.
2010 Prius goal: 60 mpg 90 day average in summer. This shouldn't prove too difficult providing the phev kit works out well and I can get some controls in place to automate things.
Mods I'm considering:
LRR tires
improved underbody paneling
solar panel for charging phev
automated grill block
Last years goal for the Paseo was to reach 60 mpg 90 day average. This was pretty easy to achieve and I easily held 60+ mpg all summer long.
2010 Paseo goal: Better than 65 mpg 90 day average in summer and at least one 75+ mpg tank. It'll take some good mods to get me up there. I just barely hit 70 mpg last summer.
Mods I'm considering:
solar roof charger (semi done)
controlled EGR flow
underbody paneling
automated grill block
There is still lots to be done on both cars, so the list of possible mods is almost never ending. I change my mind so much though, just ask Darin.

Tim: don't forget smooth wheel covers for your Prius' naked winter rims! :P
You're probably chucking a percent or two out the window, with the Prius wheels being out at the edge of the bodywork & tight wheel arch gaps.

Please don't hate on the vehicle, but in 2010 I just want to see a consistent improvement on my 2001 Jeep Cherokee. My goal would be to get above 20mpg on that puppy - city. It's actually doing over 20 highway.
Way too many ideas to even guess where to start.....and winter sure doesn't make it easy. But 4WD does eat the gas more and so anything I can do to help that would be great.
Oh, I also plan to carpool with the wife more --- at least as long as we can stand each other.
Need to figure out my ScanGuage as well -- it helped me with my engine troubles, but now to tune it for performance monitoring.

I am planning for '10 to install a coreplast block to the lower opening on my '97 Subaru Outback, build and install a fuel heater, install an EFIE in preparation for an HHO cell. I am still researching the HHO cells and may build one if I don't find one I like.

2009 - Met my totally arbitrary goal of 25mpg, according to the log, for both the last 90 days and the last 3 fill-ups, with variety of full loads, highway and city. Surpassed what I thought would even be possible running empty, mostly highway mostly flat, at 30mpg over about 100 miles.
Planned mods for this year:
-Lower the truck 4 inches in front and 6 inches in back - but with adjustable air suspension so I can get the height/capacity back when I need it - not only to lower the aero profile, but also make it easier to load (not to mention easier for older clients to climb into the cab)
-Once I can afford it, replace the transmission with one that has over drive to lower highway RPMs
I won't venture a guess as to how much those two changes will get me, but it would be nice if I could turn my current maximum into my new average
