So, 2010's nearly finished! Did you meet your 2010 goals?

I'm somewhat embarassed to say I met NONE of mine (see post #1)

However, I have a good excuse - I spent almost all my free tinkering/modding time working on the shack I got so that I would have a heated, insulated workspace to use for year-round modding ( http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...rce-14717.html )

I'm this close to switching back from shack repair/maintenance mode to car modding mode.

So, here's to 2011!

Met my goal of over 60 mpg consistently, except the first couple 3 months before I installed the 8*. Overall about 63-65 mpg average for the year.

Failed on that, but I did run the hoses under the carpet, and mount the heat exchanger in my new to me climatronic unit (not yet installed).

Full timing belt + tensioners + water pump + injection pump seals + glow plugs + torque everything I could find + everything else I cold think of job done.

Full 6 speed swap with PD150 clutch + DMF + new Engine mounts + new boots + seals + ASR job done.

Man, I did great this year.

70mpg under these conditions is much harder than I anticipated, but I'm very happy with my fuel economy for 2010: 65.1mpg.

The rear view camera fell short of expectations, my underbody coverage is good but not complete, and the roof extension... well, I decided to go home instead of go big.

In any case, I'm going to electrify the garage once the ground thaws.
Check, check, check, decided against the block heater, and check. The electromods are great; the Insight is broken without them.

Turns out any gains were offset by the extra mass (thermal and kinetic) of this setup.

I didn't find enough time to do the bellypan, but I have an excuse: I finally finished writing my PhD thesis, now I'm studying for the final exams.
As for the hubcaps - no excuse.

But I did get a coolant heater installed, which I didn't even dream about a year ago Plus an EGR cooler.

Lifetime is now 61.9, beating my goal of 60.
Best tank was 82.4 mpg / 1133 miles, beating my 1000 mile goal.
Only 8 fills for the whole year.
