I did a poor A-B test on an undertray on my Firefly a long time ago...

2% improvement at around 90 km/h (55 mph), if I recall.

Funny that you mentioned that today. I got around to installing the rear under tray today. Even if it shows little improvement in the Geo, it will still benefit by reducing road noise.

Next up: Front under belly tray

Quick update. I am in the thick of tax season so I haven't had a chance to do any ecomodding lately.

Last few tanks dropped to mid 50's mpg, but it turns out my front passenger tire was low on air. That probably explains why the car pulls to the right lately :P. Anyways, I fixed the tire.

Temps are warming up and I think summer blend is here, my daily commute is now EASILY averaging 60+ mpg to and from work without too much EOC-ing!

I'm back with some more updates. I survived another tax season, oh and I also got married!

Onto the important stuff

Since gas prices have been so low lately, I've been crunching the numbers to see if buying the Geo is still a worthy investment.

Actual $ spent on gas with Geo (95% use) and Sti (5% use) = $513

Theoretical $ money I would have spent if I kept driving the Sti (based on the miles i've put on the Geo, then divide by Sti mpg, times the average price of premium gas) =$834

Total savings $321

I've had the Geo for 4 months, so it's averaging about $80/month in savings. However, the Geo desperately needs a new clutch, so that will eat into the savings.

I'll try to get some more eco-mods onto the Geo soon!

Thats some pretty good savings!

How are you liking the car now that you've had time to settle in?

Sorry guys for the lack of updates these past 6 months!

After getting married in late may, we went on a 3 week honeymoon back to Europe (I literally left France on Bastille day, the same day that guy drove through the crowd in Nice, France), then after the honeymoon I went straight into the fall school semester...then another tax season....and now I'm here. I haven't had any time at all for ecomodding, however, I'm still keeping track of my MPG's.

I've been averaging 55.28mpg for the past 6 months. This is WITHOUT hypermiling because my wife has been complaining that I get home too late, so i've been driving my daily commute at "normal" highway speeds around 55-65mph.

Otherwise, a piece of the underbelly pan fell off, havent had time to think of a way to permanently attach it yet. But luckily since my underpan is "modular" in design, I still have 90% of the underbelly attached.

My kill switch also stopped working. It kills the engine, but the engine will not start up again. Luckily I was in my neighborhood when this happened. I havent had time to diagnose if it's the switch or a wiring problem.

Also some jerk broke off my driver side mirror! Whatever, free ecomod

I'll try to get more ecomodding done before tax season starts up again in April.
