Will the larger 4-pot clutch work on the three-cylinder car? I'm wondering if the heavier weight might smooth that little engine out just a tad.

Yes, hydraulic clutch

I think you will find a cable operated clutch in your Metro. Is there free play at the top of the pedal travel? The clutch is easy to adjust, right on top just behind the radiator.

You're right, I guess the Geo is cable clutch. The only reason i thought it was hydraulic is because every old Honda that i've driven with a cable clutch, the clutch pedal was really hard to push down. Since newer Honda's switched to hydraulic clutch, the clutch effort was way easier.
Since the Geo clutch is so easy, I just assumed it was it was a hydraulic clutch.
Yes, there is about 1 inch of free play at the top of the clutch pedal. I'll look into adjusting it.
UPDATES: I used the kill switch more generously for my commute to work: 65mpg! Previous best was 61mpg.
So with only 2 mods (fixed a broken exhaust and kill switch) i've improved mpg by 18%

The kill switch probably helped your economy much far than the exhaust, but there is not anything classy about a Metro with a broken muffler!

Nice going. Fun, isn't it?

I used to think the Metro's clutch was light, too. And then I drove a 2014 Mirage. It's also cable actuated, and it's the lightest clutch I've ever used... laughably easy. You can easily push the pedal with a finger... it makes using the Firefly's clutch feel like an old farm truck by comparison!
And yes, it sounds like yours is out of adjustment or worn. Mine bites enough to restart the engine in the bottom 1/3 of travel.

Even on normal driving, my clutch grabs at the top of pedal travel. It sounds like my clutch is worn. Time to add a clutch to my list of things to do. I'll just baby the clutch for the time being.
No modding updates this week. 65mpg seems like the best I can muster up with only a kill switch. I filled up this week and got 60.63 tank mpg
My fiance is working this weekend, so I hope to knock out a grill block and some under belly trays

Please be careful with the grill block. Easy to go too far and burn up the engine.

Aren't you supposed to install a fan indicator with a full grill block?
