Hey not a bad deal. Now you've got a nice new route to learn transitions, that's always fun.

I set a goal last fill (06/27) to make it a month without filling up. My intended refill date is the 29th. It's looking very promising. I only have 90 mandatory miles, but a few errands will probably arise.

This was looking like a record tank, but I had to hammer the throttle more than once or twice after cleaning out the throttle body - wanted to get any excess carbon out of there.

Nice, I've been running 56 - 58 mpg the past week.
That elusive 60 mpg tank is probably a few aeromods away.

New routes are definately fun to try. This one is 3 miles shorter(21.4miles), max PSL is 50, (mostly) follows a river bed so it has smaller hills, and has MUCH less traffic( lower glide speeds). I average between 80-109mpg going to work. Going home, however, I live at the top of a 3 mile incline where the last mile is ~12% grade. If I can just figure out the best way up that sucker, my averages will get higher faster. Best so far up the 3 mile hill is 17.6mpg. I'm thinking the Jethromobile needs to go on a SERIOUS diet. To 60mpg, AND BEYOND!!!

is there any stops on that last mile?

If not, get up speed and cost as far up as you can, then go to 80% open gas (best FE) and hold till you can coast again.

No stops, guard rails all the way up, twisty( many accidents in the winter), PSL is 35mph. As soon as I let off the gas, it decellerates to the next lower gear range as fast as I can shift down. Trying differant speeds, gears, and fuel consumption rates to get what I can from it.

Man, that is awesome. Congrats. I can't believe you're getting that out of a 2.0L engine. Respect.

Yesterday I had to run home in the middle of the day. Instead of taking the freeway back, I had places to go so I took the surface strees. Even with all the stoplights (keying off for them) I hit an unheard of 37.5 mpg instead of my usual 28 or 29 when I take the freeway. The wind drag is so bad in my truck, it does better in low speed stop and go than on the freeway at 65!

Yes indeed, I am going to change up my rout to avoid the freeway when I can, at lease until I get my full belly pan done. The traffic is not bad at 7:30 am on the surface streets but it is awful by quitting time so I will probably go for freeway after work for sanity sake.
