I've seen tugs that lift the nose wheels of the plane and therefore need no ballast.

Just duct-tape it back on!
Wasn't the APC from "Aliens" the one that would function terribly as an APC? What kind of obstacles could it climb?
I hope that the tugs that support the front wheels of a plane have a Freak out the New Guy button that makes constant cracking noises until you turn it off.

An A380 is 570 tons - 1,250,000 lbs
300-400 ton airplanes are quite normal
They're not going to start moving if the tug has no substance

I totally dig these repowering-with-hybrids threads. I think they're a truly cool way to keep classic style on the road while delivering good mileage and pollution control.
