yep,found 'em
I went into the 2nd Sticky: List of aero--------------------- On page 1,#15 post,I gave Randy a "aero mod list : benefit breakdown ,listing some source materials that could be studied.---------------------------------------------------------------- On page 2 of the same Sticky,#3 post on that page,I posted "modifications-data-% change,or Cd change ( nose-jobs )".This would be aero-mods #1--------------------------------------------------------------------- On the same page at the #4 post location,I did "mods-data-Cd reduction ( hood / cowl )". That would be aero-mods #2.------------------------------------- People weren't looking at the stickys so I posted the other installments as new threads where people would see 'em better.------------------ Sorry for the helter-skelter nature of it all.

Eg. Suppose that a week from now Phil decides to add yet another seminar to the series. Wouldn't it be cool if there were an "Add a Chapter" button that would start a new thread and update the list in all of the threads.
Of course it would most like be a nightmare to implement (if not just plain impossible), so not really a request. Just chasing rainbows. Sigh.

....not really. With PHP programming it's a given.

Iron Dinosaur Racing
My immediate impression of this car is, that the sharp-edged flanks of the 'lakester' would easily lend themselves to a rapid conversion to 'streamliner' class with pre-fabricated add-ons attached in the pits.
We know from Mercedes-Benz' 1958 Grand Prix racer, that the added frontal area of 'enclosing' the wheels is more than compensated by the drag reduction of enclosing the wheels, netting an overall drag reduction.

Hey Aerohead, where can I find pictures of your front wheel covers ?
It appears as though they don't have rollers like the AeroCivic has, and I was wondering if they just rub up against the tires.

You might just look at the video: ' Streamlined Toyota T-100 in the wind tunnel.'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* The skirts are piano-hinged from the top.
* A flat aluminum bar stock superstructure provides the hard points to support a single Harbor Freight Tools roller which contacts the tire surface during wheel-flop.
* Skinned in aluminum sheet.
* ACE Hardware tension springs spanning to the wheelhouse inner wall help keep the skirts stowed closed. ( it's not a very good design, as they are known to 'fly' open in winds ).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These rollers weren't designed for high-rpms, their bearings are 'dry' and 'open' and 'fail' within a relatively short timeframe.
I'm replacing the rollers with inline skate wheels which have precision bearings, and are weatherproof.
And the 'spring' system is to be replaced by the cable- gravity, drop-weight, elevator system I used on the gap-filled tadpole trailer invention.

Phil, that sounds like a great idea for the covers. Unfortunately, the video does not show how rhe covers function.
I'll try and find the link to your photo album.
I like how low profile that your covers are in comparison to the AeroCivic design.
They look as though they have less frontal area.
I'll throw a stupid question at you : What would happen if a cover just had a slick surface ( aluminum sheet covered in car wax ) to rub against the tire instead of wheels ?
It seems to me that the wheels are not moving very fast when a turn is sharp enough to mske contact.
Still, any amount of friction could be dangerous on a tire.
I know of only one other low profile design on a front wheel cover. It was that cover on a Saturn SC2 from several years ago.
( I think I asked him about this very thing, so I'll look through his thread and see how he designed his covers )
