I think there could be venting at both the upper part (tail lights) and lower part (diffuser) which I described earlier.
Is this a strategy to keep a Lithium-ion pack alive?

Do unbuilt concepts count?

Exploder II by Cristian Polanco, Guatemala

An inverted wing rounded on top for crosswind performance, and with a shallow V-shape to the side to suppress vortexes forming at the top. The open wheels are questionable though.

Looks to be another one off that same site.

Extreme Aerodynamics Due To Unique Roof Surface
http://futuristicnews.com/extreme-ae...-roof-surface/

Quote:
A new concept car has been presented by a French designer Dimitri Bez. Hexa is a solar-powered car, featuring an unusual roof covered in dimples. The unique roof surface, inspired by a golf ball, helps to increase the vehicle’s aerodynamics, efficiency, reduce its drag and limit any heat transfer.

That actually looks reasonable, dimpling only the areas that might conceivably benefit, instead of the whole car just because they can. Although some of the dimples should be perforations to make the backlight.

They're round to be omni-directional, couldn't you do the same thing with louvers, sort of a linear dimple?

Looking at the angles of the roof, it doesn't need any dimpling for aero purposes.
Where the design might use them - like aft of the rear wheel arcs, where the bodywork falls of sharply - there are no dimples.

You don't want round shapes on the rear.
