I bet it would work using the same attachment method! Little highway - I agree, probably not worth it.
Patsy Klein, lol

It's the thinnest available at Lowe's. It's pricey, and if you could make part of it with coroplast and only the important (visible) part with plexi, it would be better. (If my wife didn't drag the anchor on that one)
It bends from the bolts, and does so really well. I did crack one spot due to putting the screw in too tight. I used self-tapping sheet metal screws (9 cents apiece) for the whole thing.
If I did this again, I would have purchased the big sheet of plexi firsthand and just made it a bit shorter, basing the length of the frame on the plexi available. It was $60. My plan was to use it with the coroplast, but adding the other sheet (had to cut it in half) added $40. Oh well, now I have material for some "side Kamms" around the taillights!

Thanks, and the conduit is pretty strong, especially in the triangular-ish shape it's in. It could hold a bike or two, if it was sized larger, like on a full-size van.

Wow that is dang neer Perfect!

that is basicaly the same idea I have been tinkering with, but you have done a better job than anything I have come up width yet.

I have playing with using a tail gate mounted bike rack and clear plexiglass to do the same.

thank you for the insperation to keep going. somthing like that would defenitly look nice nice on my car, IMO.

Well done !
Very interesting.

My dad had the same car as yours. I think it got 36 MPG highway - stock.
I wonder what kind of mileage results that you would get if you did a 'real world ' A-B-A-B test.
This would mean driving on a highway at 65 MPH or more without EOC, coasting in neutral, or any other tricks.

I told him how that you get 50 + MPG with the car, by EOC, coasting down hills , etc.
He wants to know what kind of mileage he would have got if he had stuck one of these on his car ( He is not a hypermiler at all - more the opposite... 'The Anti-miler'.)

I linked him the picture of your car, and he said " What is he trying to make his car look like a missile ? " To which my reply was " Well yes -he IS trying to turn his car into a missile ... instead of a BRICK ."

I can let you know after next weekend; my highway mpg is about 38 mpg with the a/c on and 10% ethanol fuel, and about 42 mpg with the air on and regular fuel, when driving at 70 mph steady with my family on road trips. I'm driving to Kansas City next weekend so that should give me a good idea for you. I'd guess around 2.5 mpg or so.

Thanks, trying to make it more like your prius, er, uh... A missile!
I was noticing the rear view mirror that the window does now look like a prius window, with the divider in the middle at the separation point.
