I okay'ed this with Paul, and my intent was to add this to the Open Revolt Wiki page since it's designed to interface to this specific controller.
I was under the impression the wiki currently had issues that didn't allow uploading. When the issues have been resolved I'd like to get sawickm to add it.

So if you want me send you a programmed micro, read the configuration stuff and let me know what parameters you want programmed in. You might as well start with something useful. Don't want to clutter this thread unnecessarily, so send me an email with your name and required parameters and out of the kindness of my heart I will program them in. Provided there aren't more than a few!
If you let me know in time, I can probably stick micros in with the pcbs and so the postage will cover both. They are about $5 from Mouser I do believe.
I think I missed how much the boards cost. And where to send the cash.

I can help setup the "Cougar LCD Display Controller" on the ReVolt wiki.

I am still having problems editing on the ReVolt wiki. The ecomodder wiki admin has been helping me resolve this problem. Seems all the wiki login accounts were somehow corrupted.

PM me if you want to send me your files to upload.

Cougar Display Project @Mouser

Everyone looking to purchase from Mouser may want to use pnikolaj's BOM there. He can't post links yet and asked me to.
Please review before ordering since you may want to customize yours a bit depending on Canbus vs no Canbus. R20 is not included since that is specific to user's gas tank sender minimum resistance.

This may sound like a stupid question to some but I'm a little confused about can bus. First, is it a safe assumption that Paul's version of the controller does not support can bus? Second, If I build the display with can bus and my first question is true will the display be able to communicate? I was looking at the Cougar Wiki and I didn't see can mentioned. I don't currently have a bms and my charger is dumber than me. If I don't need can then I won't order the parts necessary.Sometimes I feel like I know just enough to be dangerous.
Thanks
John

John,
The current version of Paul's controller communicates to external devices via RS232 only. I believe the 1000amp version of the controller also includes CANBUS.
This display brd will communicate to either version of the controller using RS232. CANBUS hardware is an option on the display brd, but is currently not supported by my firmware. I don't have any plans to write anything but if someone does, then that opens up the option to have the display communicate to other CANBUS devices and display whatever information is being sent.

My new atmega168 board doesn't have CAN, but I have a different board that's dsPIC based that does have CAN. But CAN can haha be added to the atmega168 with what djbecker did.
