1st-gen Ford Escort, this one is so small that even I got surprised for how small it is...
It's a little smaller than the Renault-based Brazilian Ford Corcel.
I also have seen a 1st-gen Toyota Hilux when I went to the border. Took these pictures in the exact moment when the Hilux entered Brazil.
On a sidenote, I like its stock fender-mounted mirrors.

2nd-gen Fiat Fiorino, which was made only in Brazil and China. This one was made in Brazil and fitted with the export-only 60hp 1.7L naturally-aspirated IDI Diesel and a 5-speed manual transmission, with a rear bench seat adapted.
Citroën Visa 17RD with another 1.7L IDI Diesel. It has one of the best engines to run on vegetable oils.
Chang'An Mini Benni, with a 1.0L 4-cyl engine
3rd-gen Daihatsu Charade, presumably fitted with the CL Diesel engine since it has Uruguayan plates.
Citroën C15
Citroën Berlingo
Its size is comparable to an average American soccer-mom van, but it's a little narrower and fitted only with 4-cyl engines usually ranging from 1.6L to 2.0L and usually fitted with a 5-speed manual transmission, altough an AMT is available in some markets.
Peugeot Partner
Now I could guess some would be wanting Peugeot to come back to the U.S. market...

I'm looking at the distance from the rear door cut-line to the tailight. It couldn't be much less. But I like the bumper over-riders on that 1st gen Ford Escort.
Is there any country with a greater variety of cars than Brazil?

That Chana/Chang'an Benni looks a hell of a lot better than the one I last drove.
The one that bottomed out every time we hit an incline of more than two degrees at speed. (terrible terrible suspension) |

Spotted yesterday this Volkswagen-based Gurgel X-12 mini SUV, presumably from late-70s.
The manually-operated winch was a factory option.
RWD only, but the rear-mounted engine ended up favoring the traction in slippy terrain.

Very cool, that VW one!
I have two reports...
Report the first: spotted a lovely blue Fisker Karma in town today. In my small city! Parked at the house where the only Bentley in town lives. No photo, but man are those cars sexy.
Report the second: the first Mitsubishi Mirage has arrived in town. (Closest Mitsu dealership is ~100 km away, so that takes some commitment.) It's owned by the girlfriend of a friend of a friend. I hope to get a chance to talk to her about it.
