To be fair:
Other RWD vehicles are usualy front engine rear wheel drive and have 50% or less of their weight on the rear axle.
My car is mid engine rear wheel drive.
To be exact, transverse mid engine rear wheel drive.
Think of it as FWD, but in reverse.
It has most of its weight on the rear axle and all heavy components are pretty centralized behind the seats, resulting in a super low polar momentumn of inertia, great rear traction and the rear brakes actualy do something because the rear axle is so heavy while the long wheelbase and low center of gravity result in low load transfer.
The car might be short overall, but its wheelbase is 2450 mm.

That's quite big for a 2-seater other than those Brazilian coupé-utilities.

Meanwhile it's also relatively short at 3895 mm (100 mm longer than a Geo Metro hatch).
Making it simultaniously the shortest as well as the longest wheelbase of all 3 generations.

No wonder its proportions resemble a racing kart more than the previous ones did.

Snazzy roof spoiler, odd for the era at least.

It’s not a bad looking car, really, but so much of the sleek elegance of the original E-Type is destroyed in the changes here. There’s also strange details like the huge, fussy gas cap and plexiglass spoiler that just don’t seem to make much sense.

The beautiful XKE should not be touched.

It cannot be improved.

Doing so for reasons of speed or whatever is blasphemy.

Those pictures are proof.

It's like putting Arnold Schwarzenegger's face and arms on Marilyn Monroe's chassis.

It may be faster and stronger, but it sure ain't better or proper.

I agree with meteor gray, it looked better how it was, and probably more aerodynamic too. The front doesn't look bad, but not as good as an e-type.

Here is a modern interpretation of an e-type, never made.

That modern reinterpretation looks quite good.
