No, I meant the Dornier Do-J Wal flying boat. The first commercial aircraft registered in Brazil was one of such type, christened Atlântico. It was built in 1925, incorporated into Varig in 1927 and sold for scrap in 1933. One of its propellers used to be stored at the defunct Varig Museum in Porto Alegre, but its whereabouts are unknown after the bankruptcy of Varig, even though some old engines from other aircraft have been displayed in the same place a DC-3 which used to be operated by Varig is also displayed.

I like it. It has a battle jitney air to it.
Here's an oddity. Could be applied to a car (aerial antenna).

I found it in a story on the Rio-Antirrio Bridge

My Chevy S10 pickup truck has a radio antenna with Helical Strakes.
I think it's aftermarket, was there when I bought the used truck ten years ago.
I've always wondered about it, will take a photo later and see if it actually qualifies.

What exactly do "height" and "pitch" mean here?
I can guess that pitch means the vertical difference between 2 bits of the fin, but them what is the height? Do they mean the width of the fin, measured radially from the outside edge of the central cylinder to the outer edge of the fin?
Maybe it is the way my mind works, or maybe it is my total lack of engineering knowledge, but to me the article would be much easier to understand if it included a diagram to show these measurements.
