Not everyone, approximately half. In Alaska ranked choice voting repeal failed by 0.2%.

To start with there a six different ways to do it.

Let's start with one of the 6 ways to vote better then, and see which encourages voting who you actually want the most.

Rudyard pointed out how a bad system has a fatal flaw baked into it, and I'll give the generic distillation here of his specific comment at about the 26min mark. A system based on a caste hierarchy (all social/political systems are a hierarchy) of immutable characteristics grants the elites free reign to act poorly without consequence, and the disenfranchised no reason to participate whatsoever. The tyrants will push tyranny without a limiting function, and the growing numbers of permanently lower status caste members will sabotage the system that offers no path of dignity and prosperity.

Impressive wisdom from that young fella.

"I don't know how a robot develops trust..." A deep thought for today.

https://youtu.be/ewEDmVDAFSE?t=785 He describes wireless power using a point source radiating omnidirectionaly.

Fact check: It's an aerial web using lasers. DC>photons>DC. They transmitted 475 Watts a mile in 1975.

Why hadn't I heard about this before?

Wireless charging is a pointless thing in the battlefield, because electrical loads are the smallest fraction of energy expended. An M1A1 Abrams barreling across the landscape at 40 MPH isn't going to care if your cell phone is charging off it.

An exceptional thing happened. It's like Kizuna AI all over again, but with nerdy details about ACES color space.

Interesting stuff. Reality doesn't stand a chance against VR, which poses very big problems for humanity.

Doesn't OLED have a broader color gamut? I know it has a wider viewing angle, which in my efficiency-centered mind just means it's throwing light every which way instead of focusing it where needed. That probably explains why it's less energy efficient than LCD displays that subtract the color/light that isn't needed, which is an inefficient way to display images.

I'm in the process of building a fairly potent rig using Intel's just released new CPU platform and an RTX 3080 GPU my brother in law gave me. Should have all the parts ordered by Cyber Monday at the latest, which means it should be put together by Christmas. I'll finally be able to look at some of the titles out there nowadays. I haven't played a FPS since Crysis was a new game, which apparently was 2007.

This isn't VR, if I understand correctly. Someone in a motion-capture rig and Unreal Engine.

Reality has the interesting property of producing the most novel outcome (after Terrence McKenna) or the most entertaining (according to Scott Adams). Case in point, the Democrats objected to Matt Gaetz. So now they get Pam Bondi. They will wish they had Gaetz back again.

I know, but every visual tool will be applied in VR, compelling us even further.

I've spent a handful of hours with strangers in VR, and even at this early stage, I can tell that exploring strange new worlds with new friends is compelling.

Combine AIs ability to perfectly tune itself to individual proclivities with VRs ability to present an immersive experience; humanity is not adapted for it.

SA, in his usual kidding/not kidding way said he might have solved Africa's problems. A Nigerian leader quoted Scott's principle of talent stacking, surmised that leader had read his book, and that will lay the foundation to ushering in prosperity to that country, and then the continent.

My long term assumption about most all places is that they can't avoid prospering in the future. When AI becomes good enough, asking it how to get the best returns on the current set of resources will allow even the least educated, lowest awareness individuals to make better decisions than they otherwise would.

Gaetz was an embarrassment known for being annoying about his personal lifestyle. Bondi may be less qualified, but politically more likely to not be arrested so that she finishes her term. Not a fan of either whixh is not political but a comment for the qualifications involved
