Let's test this guy's linguistic theory. We'll just call it "climate" and "political" so it's a "hard science." There's no need to communicate that we're talking about [political]. That makes perfect sense, right?

Once again you're in a Scott Adams thread. He would say you're arguing about words.
According to your profile, your last post was in this thread at 05-02-2024, 06:42 PM

I'm not falling for your trolling. And I'm not going on the defensive. You guys are going to have to try to do better. Or not. I don't know if you guys are capable or not.

And yet I only find one post by redpoint5 on that date, today.
I didn't find the redpoint5 quote you used, could you provide a Permalink? Nitpicking Peter Zeihan is a strange way to re-enter the thread (and the forum as a whole).

Easily showing that what he supposedly said is absurd isn't nitpicking.

Where do you get aviation is more dangerous than motorcycles? Done both, never got hit on the freeway by a crazy in my plane. Crashes tend to be more fatal, but less often and usually totally avoidable.

Golden Age? I dunno. Scott skipped the simultaneous sip, first time in ever.
Big day today, but this is my favorite part so far:
Quote:
1:15:28 Communist Vietnam said they're going to follow libertarian melee's path and try to model their country after it so so
1:15:35 Vietnam communist Vietnam uh is doing this bold path to restructure a state
1:15:42 apparatus and uh radical reforms and they're going to copy
1:15:48 Argentina and they're going to drastically reduce the size of the state and ease their bureaucratic burden
1:15:56 Vietnam do you know anybody from Vietnam so you know there number of
1:16:02 people in California who were born in Vietnam I know a bunch of them and I got to tell you they're pretty awesome
1:16:08 people in almost every way you can imagine they're very awesome people Vietnam
1:16:15 is is way I don't know more capable and smarter than you'd ever imagine they're
1:16:21 they're they're good people anyway okay um I think that's more of the
1:16:28 Common Sense breaking out everywhere all over the world

I agree. I was there. They were very forgiving toward the United States for what we did to them. My favorite one of the Oliver Stone Vietnam trilogy is "Heaven and Earth".

Not a golden age because of the person way over in DC, that's for sure. He won't right-size that bureaucracy, but if there's any improvement at all, I consider that a small win.
Worked with a lot of Nguyen's at the wafer fab, and liked 'em all (though I like everyone).
Does Vietnam forgive the USSR?
My older Korean friend is trying to get me out on motorcycles in Vietnam, and I'd sure like to make that trip.

Should we forgive Jane Fonda?

If you go see how many of the French wrought iron utility poles are left compared to the wooden ones the USofA used.
I'd like to make the trip -- by airship. robbreport.com/motors/aviation/rise-of-airships-2944817/

California-based Aeroscraft makes a traditional-looking airship, but is also working on the flying-saucer-shaped Neona as a personal sky yacht.

Scott, Scott, Scott...
Episode 2731 at 1:09:40
Quote:
1:09:36 ...all right here is an interesting
1:09:42 factoid I only have a partial understanding of I saw Nal rant posting on X in the middle of the morning today
1:09:50 which was really last night um he says turns out that instead of scraping the
1:09:55 web to train AI you can just scrape the AI that scraped the web now I think what
1:10:02 he's talking about is this uh new Chinese open- Source AI called Deep seek
1:10:08 r10 that is um apparently completely public like you can you can look at it
1:10:15 yourself it's open source and it wasn't trained the way AI is trained I think
1:10:21 this is what he's referring to it was just trained on the AIS so somehow you can use the AIS to train [it]
|
He's talking about an Open Source metastudy. What do we know about metastudies?

First missed episode in I don't know how many years. I've seen shows occur on a different schedule due to travel to other time zones, but not missed shows.

So what I have queued up is still 2731. That puts me an hour ahead for my day.
