I don't have any idea why I was on Facebook Marketplace last week, but I saw a grey-market Subaru minivan, which I considered sharing, but a few days later, it seemed less important than trying to stay in grad school.

Oh right.

The head professor isn't requiring me to write reports for the simulations that I do this week, but I really need experience with those.

I will get better with time, right?

Right?!

Well, these guys built a camper out of a 1999 Subaru minivan, which hopefully doesn't have the ej25:

Since those Prii seemed too small (that couple moved into a small RV and finally got a conventional home), I thought that a minivan would be better, but how about a Prius with a custom one-wheel trailer?

If you had an easy way of extending legs and disconnecting it, you could pull forward a couple of feet, use your hatch freely, and maybe set up a kitchen in the front of the trailer, with plenty of storage in the back.

I wouldn't try to get fancy filling the gap between them, but you could make it fill the wake.

It sounds like you should start with this model from 2011-2017 [in USofA]. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Prius#Prius_v

At the January 2011 North American International Auto Show, Toyota revealed the 2012 model year Prius v, an MPV, which is derived from the third-generation Prius and features over 50 per cent more interior cargo space than the original Prius design.

That couple wanted a V, but they said it cost $10,000 more, and they could do a lot with that much.

They did acknowledge that roof storage would destroy their fuel economy, but felt that increased storage would be better.

I watched 5 videos of different people with Prius V campers and none of them had as much stuff as the guys living in normal Prii.

None of the Vs were very fulll and none had cargo carriers.

Those minivans are cool, but I wouldn't be so willing to spend a lot of time using one as a camper.

Cutting the roof off a car is a good way to loose a minimum of $10,000. Battling leaks would become your full time job.

Using a tent like normal people would also save a ton of money.

Finally, I could camp in my minivan in luxury and still get 30 MPG. When I've decided I no longer want the van, I can sell it at a minor depreciation rather than send it to the scrapyard.

Really finally, extra storage should go on a hitch mounted cargo carrier.

Actually really finally, if one must sleep in a box, there are folding or collapsing trailers like this, which has less room than my $100 10'x14' tent that sets up in 2 minutes.

Seams that a tiny popup pulled behind the Prius could be the ticket. Some friends have a bunkhouse brand motorcycle popup that is comfy for two, sets up quick, and has storage for other items when folded.

Should be fully in the wake of a small car so not much aero drag.

(This assumes that someone isn't going for "stealth" to camp anywhere)

I can’t wait to get my 2025 Prius with AWD. Gonna add an air suspension to raise it at the push of a button and also use tires with a bigger sidewalk and aero covers on the wheels and skid plates and shields underneath. Seats lay down flat and can fit a small bed in the back

I was hoping the trailer was hard sided. Couldn't use it in Yellowstone all the times I was there with kids.

Clearly, YouTube thinks that I am obsessed with living in a Prius.
What are they saying about my career prospects?!
This couple absolutely has the best organization of the multiple and plural videos that I have watched, but it seemed like they had the most stuff in their car: They don't have a cargo carrier.
