Doesn't look right to me either.

Not enough time for a 15 minute test? Remember the false positives from test swabs? Sounds like redirection to me.

pjmedia.comFED UP: Citizens, Community Leaders Form Coalition to Save Portland
Quote:
A group of citizens in Portland, Ore., have come together to say enough is enough. After months of riots, spikes in violent crime, and years of inaction on the homeless population, the Coalition to Save Portland has begun to push back on the city’s failed leadership. The coalition has taken several actions to foster frank discussions about the growing problems in Portland, and what actions city leaders should take to correct them. Time will tell if city leaders listen or continue on their radical path.
....
Gabe Johnson, one of the co-founders of the coalition, previously made national headlines by pushing back against the riots. Johnson, a 48-year-old black man, lives two blocks from the scene of the worst riots in downtown Portland. Initially, he agreed with the aim of the riots, until he went and saw for himself what was going on. He’s now decided to change his voter registration to non-affiliated after a lifetime of voting for Democrats.

I could do this all day. Trump has bullied and downplayed mask wearing countless times.

"I'll just speak louder, sir," Mason replied.

"Ok, you want to be politically correct. Go ahead," Trump said.
The reporter couldn't be heard while outside in the sunlight where it's pointless to wear a mask. Trump asked him to remove it and the reporter didn't want to, so he says fine, you want to be politically correct, go ahead. I'm expected to be outraged by this? This is an example of mocking mask wearers as a whole? His press secretaries do that to 10x greater effect on a daily basis.

My instinct is to say try harder, but I don't find any satisfaction reading endless nonsense that amounts to "Timmy called Johnny a doo doo head" and we need talk about this.

I'm sure 200,000,000 people died as a result of this horrific mocking.

So happy to see you being disagreeable.

This is what FC linked as evidence of bleach injection

Quote:
And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that, so that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That’s pretty powerful.
In the same paragraph, Trump is unambiguously talking about UV light, and even if he said the words bleach, which he did not, he never even implied that people should inject it. He turned to someone and said we should look into this.

If you haven't caught on yet, Trump is expert on basically nothing. When he gets called out on talking about things he's not expert on, his fallback is to say he's trolling the media.

From my perspective, I dislike that society has devolved to the point that we are only motivated by negative campaign ads, misrepresentation of opponents character or outright lies, and brash personalities represented by both Trump and Biden. That said, the thing I approve of that Trump does is descend to the level of idiocy that the legacy media brings. I could could party all night, stumble into a press conference stinking wasted, and bring a higher level of intellect and dignity to the profession. What's worse, that our figurehead is a degenerate, or that the place people go to be informed on how to avoid promoting degenerates is itself degenerate? One is a single person and is easily contended with, but the other is an broad institution with roots planted in corruption at the core. They seed division and chaos with disinformation; causing gullible people to despise their country, to see everything in terms of arbitrary oppressor's/oppressed relationships, and to stoke violence and destruction in the streets all the while saying this is peace and progress in action.

Legacy media is the biggest cancer because the vast majority of people don't have their own opinions, they have them given to them, and then they are further deceived into thinking their opinions are their own.

Quote:
No, you are just trolling. I am confident that you know how to use Google as well as anyone.
I wish I was trolling, but I don't find the subject interesting enough to spark a conversation. My only intention in this instance was to make sure people are being honest with facts. Instead we get the very tactic used by legacy media to run a headline which is either factually incorrect itself, or is a non-sequitur to the main story, or both.

There is only 2 possibilities from FCs original comment;

Quote:
He said it's no big deal and will just go away on its own, and makes fun of people who wear masks....

Maybe Walter Reed can give him some bleach injections or something. I hear they might be effective.
Either it was a marginally funny joke (I stated I didn't know anything with regards to mocking mask wearers and still haven't seen evidence), or he believes Trump actually instructed people to inject bleach, or both.

I pointed out that he never said nor implied that people should inject bleach.

So what causes lift on a fastback car body?

The subject isn't interesting and needs to be taken to some other chump's thread.

Is anybody planning on going to see Battle Angel Alita? Will we see the next film before the Sun goes micro-nova?

Some folks seem to have been fooled to believe switching from one mainstream media outlet to other with a softer stance to a random matter is "expressing an opinion".

From another thread, I received a PM from an un-named member. To paraphrase, "I used to think you were a hippie[sic], but now I think you're a conservative.

I choose to respond here, for the benefit of all the lurkers. [waves]

Hippys were conservatives. They reacted against the [WWI trench warfare skinhead hair style] and adopted an Old West/Jesus style and went back to The Garden.

It was the Yippies, the Youth International Party that hijacked the zeitgeist and ran a pig ("Pigasus the Immortal") as a candidate for president of the United States in 1968.

In my mind there is a red line from there to BLM/Antifa/Biden. The hippys were ''Tim Pool Socialists'

If y'all want something else to respond to there's this:

Kami Band rocks!

Isn't the rule that it takes about 20 years for that to happen without having to change your own beliefs?

I was under the impression that one automatically became conservative because that was a survival technique embedded into our genes. So for that, a radical leftie becomes middle of the road. I still like freebeard's comment about hippies being conservative, never thought that way, but yeah it fit. They're probably republican nowadays, minus the guns but not necessarily so (or at least the genuine hippies / mugwumps I knew)

Even more thought provoking: republican and democratic mores swapped places sometime around WW2. Republicans used to be pro union.

I think there's some truth to that.

Youth don't have enough experience to have concrete opinions about how the world should run, so they generate the ideas, and it's liberal minds that are generally creative. Most ideas are terrible though, and have been tried at some earlier point in time, but history is lost on youth.

Older people have more rigid thinking that experience has informed them with. They aren't generating the new ideas and instead are attempting to conserve the ones they are familiar with.

Liberals are more likely to have terrible ideas, and conservatives are more likely to cling to terrible ideas. Conversely, liberals are more likely to have great new ideas, and conservatives are more likely to conserve something that is already optimally structured.

It's the yin/yang interplay between conserving the best ideas and changing the things that need to be changed that makes the arrangement functional.

In the 1960s Democrats (or at least the Left) were anti-war.

What was worst for me is when they traded colors in the 1980s. I still have to sort that out again each time.

I'm the most rabid conservative that I know. And I try to only vote for liberals.
