I cant wait to get some sort of awesome fuel efficient car like you guys got one day, fuel efficiency is too cool

My truck is stalling sometimes when I put it into reverse or drive, I still think its the timing and I will get a shop to check that out and figure out why its stalling and also getting terrible mileage....But! for now I decided to measure my actual commute. The route I've been taking is around 9km each way, on the way into work I stop by starbucks everyday I used to just go through drivethrough, but the last couple days started parking the truck and walking in, see what my difference in mileage is... after this fillup I will try driving another route to see if I can improve more. I will post my fillup tomorrow as well to see what I am at

Ok so even being gentle with the driving, and parking to walk into starbucks, not idling the engine except in traffic, got almost 12mpg....but I have been hauling loads of navijack occasionally. Might try pumping the tires up a few psi this coming work week, and see where I am at next friday

Anyone out there having added success?

I had to look up "navi jack". I thought it was going to be boat equipment!

---

I filled the Mirage on the weekend: 65 MPG US = 3.6 L/100 km. Winter's over!

Lol, yeah maybe it’s a small town term?

Those mpg figures on your mirage are insane!!!

Western Canadian term refers to John Thomas' nickname.

I went dumpster diving at work and got 2 fans, a large pedastal one and a smaller table/desktop one. I also got some large-ish pieces of plexiglass. I'm not sure if it's acrylic or polycarbonate though. They do have some imperfections, but I don't think it's enough to do all 4 windows so I will just do the 2 back ones since visibility through them isn't as important.

Yesterday I put the battery back in my Superbeetle, started it for the first time in months, and washed it. Tomorrow I can pick up five powder-coated wheels.

They'll be satin black. They won't go on the car until I replace two fenders and maybe top-coat the paint.

The powder coat shop asked for another day to deliver, but I'd posted that picture of when they were all 'not crusty' so I changed the color to their house Silver without upping the cost.

Now I'm thinking about 3D printing the center caps they're missing. Maybe an Ecomodder logo?

Worked on fixing up my 2nd Insight, in preparation of gifting it to my brother in law.

Car has new tires, new brakes, nearly every bit of steel in the vehicle has been de-rusted, painted, then coated with lanolin. Pressure washed the seats, shampooed what little carpet it had. New speakers. Fixed ground issues in the engine bay. Cleaned EGR passages, new spark plugs, air filter, battery. Oil changed. Recharged the A/C. Fixed a water leak into the cabin. Added sound dampening throughout. New primary O2 sensor. Replaced steering wheel with a nicer one I had. Probably two dozen other things I'm not thinking of.

The only thing it needs, before I sink my teeth into Aerocivic, is brake lines. Just waiting on the tool to come in.
