YKYAEM when...

- Your low fuel light comes on past 500 miles

- The expected range when said light comes on is over 160 miles

- You daydream about your mpg numbers switching places. "I'm getting 58 mpg now. An 85 sure would look good..."

I've gotten in arguments over the merit of trying to hold momentum and wear out aged tires vs waste brake pads and gasoline. I won when I pointed out that the car has a worn out engine so staying out of the throttle is kind of important to keep it alive.

I'm trying to figure out what happened here.
I drove to class today, all 65 miles of it, doing 75 MPH on the and also freeway hitting surface street traffic, managed to average 60 MPH and get 40 MPG.
Now I'm wondering if my engine has lean burn because it shouldn't be this efficient at part loads at 3700 RPM.

YKYAEM when you feel a surge of relief on finding that you managed to squeak your last tank over your self imposed benchmark... by 0.08 mpg.

YKYAEM when your tank log does not even show the EPA bar because it is too far down!

Nice work, Charlie!

YNYAEM if you're driving a Porsche 914 on a racing game, and you instinctively put the
pop-up headlights down! And stare at the back of the same car thinking, "that needs the roofline changed to a fastback!"

When you are very happy that your state university has two copies of Road Vehicle Aerodynamics.

I actually did that one day when i rode my motorcycle to school, traffic was just creeping forward so i turned the engine off and pushed it. Eventually it go going fast enough that im sure traffic behind me didnt appreciate it so i jumped back on and damn near tipped the thing over . scary.
