You can try to include complete math library - it was not fitting when atmega 168 was used (16KB flash space), if you have atmega 328 chip then you have 32KB of flash - you probaly have enough room...

Update. I have soldered 0.1uF capacitor between ground pin and VSS pin and speed seems to be really accurate and does not jump around at all. after calibration/correction it is off 0.1km in distance...
