It used to be that the only expense for a house was the glass for the windows and nails. Then when you moved you burnt down the house and sifted the ashes for the square-cut nails.

Not people here on EcoModder. We tell you to sell your 4-5 vehicles and replace them with one newer and more reliable used car. We told you to do that when $500 junkers were selling for $2500 / $3,000.
As an alternative we told you to sell all but the best car and pocket the windfall.
We routinely say: "Why are you shopping for more 20 year old cars when you have 3, 4, 5 already that you haven't fixed and sold?" We say: "fix a car, sell it, repeat."

What's wrong with foreign cars? Mine are all foreign.
The new Nissan Versa starting at $16,000 seems like a good deal to me. It also comes with a manual transmission, what more could a guy want?
Another vehicle that would be on my radar if I were single and didn't live in Snowmagedon-land would be a Honda PCX or similar bike. For around $5,000 you get a highway capable vehicle that also get's 100mpg. What more could aguy want? Maybe a Grom because it's about the same from a performance side, only with better fuel mileage and has a manual transmission.
