I'd take it back even if it was comfortable. Most beds are, unless you've got a herniated disc like I do, and then you need a plank to sleep on.
Mattresses are a funny product to me. They are among the few things we still haggle over. The price of most everything is just whatever is advertised, and every person pays the same price if they purchase at the same place and time.
Mattresses though, you can't put a price on sleep. Well, you can't put a price on food either, but I don't haggle over the price of milk.
I dislike mattress stores because they are the same as car dealerships. Same sleazy salesmen, same non-transparent pricing. "I'm not authorized to discount this so much, let me go talk to the manager".
No more discussion about price, just list it and stop wasting people's time.

Might be missing one important step: willingness to actually leave. I found as I get closer to the door, the prices drop sometimes. Sometimes I actually make it outside. Started the car once before the price came down to what I accepted.
I have a place here that makes my mattresses. Tell him what I want, wait a couple of days boom it's delivered, the old one gets carted off. I don't even haggle since he's cheaper than everyone else by 20%
Even the really odd stuff like my current dual rates soft one side only.

Here's a story.
Yesterday I was watching this Technology Connections video:
When I got to approx. 32:15 I realized that Coburg Pizza in Mohawk's lunch special was off the menu at 3PM. So I paused it and headed out.
After lunch I stopped by Goodwill and saw the same red refrigerator [different band name] for $100. I thought 'as if ' and went home.
Then I watched the second half of the video where he replaces the thermostat with a $20 part. Which I may do at some point.
Meanwhiile I can now have frozen foods, ice cubes and fresh vegetables. The old one-zone minifridge is in the shed.

Left unmentioned: you bought the red one? And got it to your home.
When does the ecomodder thermostat mod start?

I would say he did not buy the fridge or is not up on the proper use of 90's slang.
"The 90's slang for expressing strong disagreement is "as if." It's another term popularized by the movie Clueless that was realized in 1995. The best definition for "as if" could be "I very much doubt it." When people say it, they let you know something is impossible, in their opinion."

I must have had a brain fog.
The old minifridge in the shed can rattle and hum all it wants.

Truth be told, I got a 10% discount and kicked back the penny, so it was $90. Plus two 50 cent ice cube trays at a little second-hand store that's in walking distance. (I know, everything is in walking distance if you have the time)
Technology Conenctions cited $350 when new.

Still curious on how you get it transported. Can't imagine you walking down the sidewalk with a fridge of any size on a dolly.

It went in the back of the Metro. As we loaded it I explained that my VW Squareback could swallow my washing machine or dryer, but the Metro is bobtailed in comparison.
When I got a ShopSmith at a yard sale, it came home down the sidewalk.
