Exclamation 100$$ per Barrel for the First Time 08 - thinking about EV's

Can you Believe Gas soured above 100 dollars a barrel

!!!!Happy New Year America!!!!!

That price Got me to thinking about EV's (electric vehicles)

So I started searching the internet and I stumbled on to a couple great site's
I thought that I would share with anyone who has a interest.

The First site is a company based out Palm beach Florida that will convert a good variety of cars mostly upper end cars like Porches and BMW's

What I thought was the cool thing is the do hybrid conversions also not just EV.

http://www.coolgreencar.net/

The second Link is for website that specializes in only selling EV's (kinda like a auto trader for EV'S)

http://www.austinev.org/evtradinpost...ist&clearoff=1

The third Link is not totally dedicated to EV's but its a wonderful site I visit quite often to keep up on various news about issue's and policies for sustainable mobility.

http://www.greencarcongress.com/

Hope everyone enjoys the links more to come, and also I would like to know what everyone thinks of EV's on this site ?

Hey there! Welcome to the site. Some good links I am very familiar with,

I love EVs, one day I hope to not need one because I'll be near enough to work to bike,

Darin will be your expert though!

Welcome aboard! You've found the right place if you are interested in saving gas through modified driving techniques and eventually do-it-yourself EV conversions.

Hi & welcome.

Good links - I read several of those sites myself.

I think that with the limits of current (affordable) battery technology, they aren't for everyone. But in the right circumstances, they can be ideal.

There are 3 EV's in my family:

1. Project ForkenSwift - EV conversion

2. e-bike by Schwinn ... or Currie

3. electric trolling motor

Thank you all for welcoming me on board SVOboy directed me here from stumble Upon

SVO; It def would be nice to be able to bike or walk to work a dream of mine for a while. as I commute 60 miles each day.

TomO; I have been reading A lot of the do it yourself mods lately and there are some great ones on here and I plan to post some in the future

MetroMPG; Man you are living the dream I wish I could have that many EV's I have been reading the forkenswift article (yes all 12 pages or so) and it is very interesting I have always wanted to know what it would take to make an EV from scratch.

I like the first link I gave because its not your run of the mill EV's maybe they are high in price but come on a porche as an ev thats just awesome and plus the have a diesel hybrid system something I am looking into doing personally in my truck BetsyBio

One last question is there a particular place on the site to write an about me or should i just pick a place that is specific to what i am doing with my truck?

If you want to start a thread about mods you've done/plan to do to your truck, I'd post it in Ecomodding Central.

But if it's a Biodiesel machine (just a guess), perhaps also start a thread on that subject in Fossil Fuel Free .

And lastly, you can create a garage entry so it appears beneath your avatar, like the Blackfly & ForkenSwift do beneath mine. To do that: Add new vehicle.

Its all good SVO second times a charm with postings pics I knew I should have hit the preview button before posting Doughhh..LOL

Metro: yeah she's definatley going to run on Bio-diesel / Hydrogen / Electric and with a little sunshine thrown in the mix. (So I have Big plans for her) Thanks for the links I am working on my garage entry rite now.

And I look forward to posting some pics in the future as I finish more things

Oh yeah and thanks on the fine looking vehicle comment

(Those rims made her pretty but they did not help in the gas mileage category I put them on for shows, I have to put light weight rims on when I am doing any gas mileage testing)
