I'll try to be there, too. If it is an overnight, I'll be camping in Watkins Glen.

I plan on camping Friday night, and maybe Saturnay night too depending if people decide to stick around after the event.

I actually just looked at the GGP website not one day ago and saw that they'd updated it with this year's event info. Excitinnngg!

I will have something or other by then you could run with... If you are free that day I'd be disappointed if you didn't come up. I know it's more fun to have a car that can really crank out the high numbers, but also consider that this event is done by category, so you could easily snag a win for one of the lower MPG categories with the new truck or one of your projects if that sounds more appealing.
I felt a great sense of community only meeting 4 other members last time, so I'm really excited for the number of prospective people showing up this time - it should be a blast. People who can hang around for mothers day or maybe the day before should do so because there's plenty to do and see in the area.
Mike: I implore you to bring the B210 rain or shine. Everyone there including myself will undoubtedly be impressed by the numbers you can crank out of 30+ year old technology. I don't remember seeing ANY older cars there last year.
I'm definitely coming.
P.S. Darin, it turns out my girlfriend knows the brewmaster at wildflower cafe/roosterfish, so if anyone's interested I can probably get him to give us a proper tour.

Will - I was kinda thinking about bringing the Storm. If (and only if) I can get it to run on the stock engine using only two cylinders and run properly. I'm really thinking in the 40's at least with it.
If not, I actually thought about bringing the truck, too, if I can make it. I plan on doing some things to the Effwunfiddy anyway, and adding the MPGuino that I got from dcb for instrumentation. With the 6 cylinder, I see no reason I shouldn't be able to get decent numbers (disclaimer: for a truck that's 15 years old, running on an engine that was basically unchanged since the 60's.).
However, I'm going to need someone to bring something bigger than my truck for me to draft...

Info from last year.
Quote:
Categories of Competition
(award presented for winner in each class)
1. 26 mpg and under
2. 27-32 mpg.
3. 33- 38 mpg
4. 39-44 mpg.
5. 45 -50 mpg
6. 2 wheeled vehicles
7 3 wheeled vehicles
8. Trucks
9. Vans
10. Other (includes vehicles that are now out of production such as Geo Metro and original Honda insight)
We will add a “modified” category for each of the first five categories. You must have a vehicle that is licensed and registered for road use. Lights, horn, spare tire. If you will not have a passenger, you will have to carry ballast of 120 lbs.
All vehicles will top off tanks before the event and after the event. We have monitors at the gas station..Entry fee will depend on how many “modifieds” you have.
The CATEGORIES of competition are based on EPA combined Highway/ City ratings.
So lets say you have a Toyota Camry Hybrid that the EPA says should get 34 mpg highway and you put a station wagon tail on it. You would be placed in the modified category for xlass 3 : cars who's normal rating is 33- 38 mpgs.
Of all modified cars in that class, whoever get the best gas mileage in our 80 mile trip around the lake wins.
This will be timed . You must average no more than 10% slower than the posted speed limit or you will be penalised.

I *think* that was wholly dependent on number of entries last year. Not totally sure, though.
