Yeah, plus weren't they going to put their Ecoboost technology in that car? That alone should put it at least 4 mpg above my Civic.

I haven't heard ecoboost plans for the Fiesta.

However, the car was not set up for performance. The gearing was mild. No CRX HF, but also no Honda Fit.

my 2006 chevy malibu is rated for 32 mpg's highway and i get between 39-43 out of it! i just believe if i had a car rated for 40mpg's i could get at least 50 mpg's out of it and only mods would be k&n air filter, max air pressure in tires, and my eco driving style!

I've heard there are ecoboost plans for the Fiesta. 1.2 or 1.4L I think?

Oh and by the way, I had posted on this in another article but if anybody checks out the 2009 consumer reports for auto's (April issues) Ford was by leaps and bounds the best domestic manufacturer, Chrysler was rated second worst I think only to land rover (if my memory serves) and GM wasn't much higher, but Ford was competing with the japanese companies.

I was never a Ford fan but they have my vote of confidence recently with how strong they've been doing. (for a domestic)

I put out a note to some Ford people about EcoBoost plans. We'll see what the official word is.

Yeah, me too. I wish I had bought some stock in Ford before they made that announcment. I would have been set for the year.

However, consistant news like this doesn't hurt, either: PR-USA.net - Study: Ford Surpasses Honda in Initial Quality

Ford Sucks :)

Ok I got that out. It seems that the Ford ECO Boost will be a V4. If it is a true ECO Boost it will be direct injection with turbo. It should easily get 40MPG.
