How about making a trailer out of a totaled Prius?

Mustang modding
Since the original pony car was based on Falcon/Vomit (excuse me,Comet) mechanicals,to modify the current iteration would actually move the car back to it's original economy-car roots.
Too bad FoMoCo doesn't yet offer a real fastback 'Stang as Mickey Thompson set LSRs with.
I'll hold out for a retro Torino Talledega!

I am fairly certain I will NOT be building the kammback, at least not now. I am approaching 40 mpg for this tank, attempting 622 miles on the car odometer, and between a current plan which will help my fuel savings pay me back faster, and life, it will not be put into affect soon. After the coming winter, depending on life circumstance, I will evaluate again.

That is too bad, I was really looking forward to your build!
Had you not said that you were going to do it, I would have done it myself, just so that someone finally did it. However since then:
I paid to have my timing belt replaced: $901+
I bought three factory hoses: $572+
Two different shops performed diagnoses: $145
I replaced my spark plugs, wires, and knock sensor: $160
Finishing my dad's fence is indefinitely postponed, which was money that I was expecting. After my finals tomorrow, I will do a compression check, and if my bad cylinders have a leak, I will go to the nearer Pep Boys for them to do their voodoo.
My dad is offering to loan me his F150 and if I can get Bacon running, I will drive up and swap.
Air Conditioning!
So, what is your current plan, if it will give you a better improvement than a Kammback?

Those prices remind me of the Volvo xc70 that I'm all to happy to no longer own..

I planned on doing the timing belt myself, but decided that studying was more important than working on metal when it was 109°. I spent a few hours finding a distributor that discounted those hoses--before shipping, those were 35% less than half of the places asked.

I would join Team Mustang, but currently I only average 19-20 mpg in my short city commute. I can get 28 mpg at 70 on the highway though.
As for the Aero, the 2005-2010 mustang was ~0.37, and the GT500 version was ~0.38. The Escort has a couple advantages:
The Escort keeps the tires inside the bodywork. The Moostange curves in the body work and leaves them sticking out more.
The Escort has a more aero front end. As much as we talk about the tail, the front end hurts the Mustang. It has to build up a large pocket of air in front to try and smooth out that hood edge. My hood jumped all over the place around 80 mph, until I added more sealing on it's front edge.
The rear end of the Escort has sharp edges that give it good separation. Around the lights and trunk we have a crease, but around the edges of the bumper is a curve that creates drag.
little things, but it makes up for the same Cd numbers.
Things I want to do to my Moostange:
Lower the trunklid. The air is already attached at the trunk lid, and I think I could lower it to extend the line of the rear glass and still have it attached with low drag airflow.
remove the rear view mirrors and replace with cameras, or internal mirrors.
Adjustable upper grill block.
I currently have a lower grill block, tires at 38 psi, underdrive pulley and engine tune.

Join up! It's more about bringing together active Mustangs on here than anything else- I don't think any of us are planning to take 1st place for the teams...lol
And you are beating EPA. The GT500 version surprises me that the Cd is worse, usually it is better. I look forward to following your progress! Mustang Dave has the same generation (and I believe year), v6 be it, but him and his work might be helpful
