Yeah. I wonder how well it’ll hold up in terms of styling considering Toyota is planning on keeping that body style till 2030. How much will it look wonky in the year 2028 driving around other future cars?

I think looks get in the way of technology. Sure, we want it to be a piece of art. But art doesn't turn the wheels. I've owned some really ugly cars and they've all gotten me from point A to point B just fine.

I wonder if in the future people will complain about the looks of their "beam-me-up transporter".

I have no clue, but every Tesla I saw was bigger than a Prius anyway. Not to mention it has more space to fit more batteries due to the absence of an ICE and a power-split device

Tesla (and all modern EVs) have water cooled or heated batteries to keep them just at the right temperature. Most hybrids have air-cooled batteries and heat is the primary enemy.

Hybrids also have to vent heat from the engine, catalytic converter and the rest of the exhaust system.

In some cases you could cover the catalytic converter and have zero problems. In some cases you may actually benefit from even insulating the catalytic converter. It all depends on how and where you drive. The closer you can keep it in the middle of its working temperature the better.

But then you could have a teenager in Arizona that will want to push the car to its limits. So you need enough cooling for situations like that. Otherwise there will be people ruining their catalytic conveter because they didn't baby it in hot weather.

I thought I was behind a new Prius, but turns out (when I passed it ) it was a fifth-generation Supra.

Are the tail lights similar?

Sports cars are the perfect things to electrify. Nobody is taking a Supra on a 1,000 road trip. If it only gets used locally, perfect thing to be electric.
