EV mode will kick out once you get above 35 I believe, 40 mph for sure. To re-enter it you would have to stop the car and flick the switch off and on again. Otherwise, its just is normal hybrid mode and the kit is charging the pack constantly. IMO I like to have these features on separate switches, but theres no problem with combining them.

Once I finish my electric motorcycle I'm really temped to go with lithium batteries, so I sent them an Email about their packs, 8Kwh seems like a good size for a motorcycle so that is what I asked about and this is what I got back:

"Our standard pack is 24V 80AH. You can use two packs in series and two strings in
parallel. Two BMS to monitor two strings. The normal discharge rate is 160A-320A in this
configuration. each 24V80AH pack is $800, BMS is $170, 15A charger is $150. The total for
this 80KWH pack would be 4 x 800 + 2 x 170 + 150 + $250SH = $3940"

Along with my Real Force batteries, I now have the rest of the kit except for some reason there's no BMS.

At first glance the installation seems fairly straightforward on my Prius. I did not crawl under recently to look at the panel on underside where the bolts need to be secured. Will I have to remove my receiver hitch first, or is it easy to work around it?

The BMS will come in a separate shipment. Could be a few weeks.
Since there isn't an elegant way to adjust running the system without out it, I'd encourage you to be very careful.

For the three installs we have planned we have decided to wait for the BMS before going forward with the installs. Also, once you get the BMS be very conscientious about the order of how you connect the sytem to the BMS. There is a high likelihood of blowing out one or more components if things are done out of order.

I just got the new BMS. It has two boxes, the smaller box with digital display has an SD card slot. An SD card reader is included too. They appear to link together with the USB cable. There are two connectors on each of the RFE batteries which appear to plug in to the larger box. Each battery, aside from it's main power connection, has a mini connector and a smaller one about half the number of pins. These smaller connectors appear to plug into clearly label places on the BMS unit, but there are no included instructions. When you say they must be in some sequence, what do you mean?

Glad to hear you BMS came in. that means at least one shipment has made it to Wisconsin!

Patience is what is needed when ordering from Enginer. Although there isn't always the best communication, the parts do eventually come. A package came for me at the shop. I'm going down in a bit to see what's in the box. Hopefully it is the BMS's for our kits.

We also have another person in Madison who is doing their own install that has been waiting on their BMS as well.

Patience, Grasshopper.

Have you assembled the kit on your car?
I can not wait to know whether the new BMS and the battery pack is better than the previous generation. Hope that, as shown in Dan photo, battery burn or melt will no longer appear.
Is there any instruction sheet?
thanks

It seems the enginer has changed a new battery rather than motocell.
The web of realforce in chinese shows the battery RFE-16F80, LiFePO4, 48V, 80AH, life cycle ≥1200, max charge 58.4V, cut-off discharge 32V, max discharge current200A
