[QUOTE=Vman455;542890]Drilling holes in the body is a no-no here in the rust belt (I plan on keeping this car for at least the next decade), and after further thought I didn't like the idea of velcro. So, I ended up using plastic rivets--typical automotive body fasteners for things like bumper covers, underbody panels, etc.

On to the pictures:

Fastener for the skirts; clamps to the wheel arch lip.

I noticed the side skirts: are you aware of any testing on those?

Or some kind of a green circle in the middle of the skirt. May I suggest...

Actually, I'll need some sort of graphic for the tail--in Chicago this weekend, passersby seemed very interested in the skirts, and I imagine the tail will generate even more attention.

In other news, the tail project has officially begun! This morning I ordered a Torklift Ecohitch, the only hitch available for the Prius that doesn't have a giant bar hanging below the diffuser panel (the crossbar mounts above the panel, leaving only the hitch itself exposed), and a Stowaway cargo carrier frame, on which I'll build the tail out of rigid foam and fiberglass.

Also, I can now confirm that the wheel skirts are good up to at least 80 mph, no flapping or rubbing.

Although I was upset that the Ecohitch was an extra $100 over the conventional type, there really is no other competition for these "stealth" hitches, so I bought one.

I'd be very interested in a coastdown ABA test of your mods. Something that quantifies the gains.

Awesome job on those wheel skirts! Any idea on how much they're helping? What's holding the rear edge to the bumper?

I know the thought of paying for, or rehosting the pics is not a pleasant one, but all the photobucket links are dead right now. I know this thread has been valuable to me and I'd paypal you a few bucks to get them fixed, and I'm sure some of the other dudes would too...
