Not bragging about the commute itself(if it happens it’ll SUCK) but about the mileage I’ll get... there are choices of route ranging from about 70mi to the 95-ish... I think the longest route is most efficient because it avoids most big hills and doesn’t use a divided highway...

Figured I’d post here again with hopeful spirit... I’ve had a couple tanks that were nowhere near 50mpg, but also have had lots of bad weather and chilly temps(forties) that held it back pretty good... the tank I’m working on(will be filled in the morning) has been 100% good weather, with dry roads and 65-80* ambient temps... I’ve had two instances of naughty behavior (one WOT 0-60 run to begin a trip, to get to coasting sooner than accelerating slowly, and one 45-90 pull in 3rd gear, overtaking and kept the foot down) but otherwise I’ve been good... nighttime averages on my commute have been just above 50 indicated, and daytime averages were closer to 55-57 indicated...
The picture indicates how it sets now... the trip meter is understated by 2.5% due to tire size, and I have a 12 gallon tank... I’m guessing I’ve used 6.5 gallons so far, which *should* put my average right at 50mpg... I’ll update after I fill up and tell you how far I was off(or not)

Thanks! I’m cautiously optimistic about my tank average... kinda wondering how it would look if I hadn’t driven like a moron those two times... let’s see...
Not overtaking that truck within 3mi of the house woulda likely pushed the average for that trip from about 55 indicated to maybe 58-60 once I adjusted my P&G to match its lower speed(I was averaging 57 before I put my foot down)
Not sure how badly the WOT run up to 60 hurt but I was shifting at 6300 RPM, which is much higher than my normal of (IF I’m not skipping gears) 1800...

Sounds like an "Italian Tune-up" to me! I'd say it all comes out in the wash at the end of the tank average.

Disappointed... pulled up to the pump about 3/4mi from work and filled up... 349.1mi(after adding 2.5% for tire sizing) and 7.479 gallons for like 46.67mpg... I really wanna hit 50...

46.67 in a 2.2L car is pretty damn good.

I had a diffuser planned but the neighbor, “being helpful”, cleaned up near my driveway and burned my sheet of free 10mm coroplast... it’s my mother so I can’t be too angry but I was looking forward to having a diffuser...
