yes clouds... or "propulsion farts" to be technical.
It's mostly just radical hypermiling. I reset my trip MPG gauge last week to clock my new effort at 70+ and have been as high as 75 since. At 70.1 right now. The mods are to make it easier while driving more "normally" ... have you modified your Yaris much? Which Yaris chassis do you have? Manual transmission?

Hi,
It is a 2007 yaris hatchback 1.3 manual transmission
Tires are pumped to 45psi and half of the top grille is blocked.
Last tank returned 47mpg (us) 80% country roads and 20% city

I could try but I don’t see me *ever* getting a 70mpg tank... a single run, maybe... pic of UG count?

I'll do my best. I have weeks or months of tuning ahead of me before I can dream of another 70mpg tank.

Do you do the engine off coasting technique? Pulse & glide?

The 70 MPG CLUB has an "SRA class" ("Single Run Average"), for which you get a picture of the bumper sticker! Pic of gauge readout encouraged but optional. Honor system!

The meaning of "single run average" at the heart of the 70 MPG CLUB's "SRA Class" is very flexible... if the run feels like an accomplishment, then it is. Haha. Test out techniques and see what you get.

I have a 28mi trip on which I can usually average in the mid sixties with diligent hypermiling, maybe I run the tires up to 75psi (they’re about trashed anyway lol), remove the seats and go for the record?

Go for it. I am finishing some work on the car this month. Should finally have my wheel well skirts fully attached today. The driver side is on now. They'll be better and look cleaner than ever.

Well that's the secret as to why you're not breaking 50 MPG. Good and frequent use of that technique is the way to get a car such as a Yaris up closer to about 60 MPG on a tank average. and there certainly would be trips that you could do that would get better than 70 MPG.
