96' Chevy Corsica 2.2L 3-speed!

This car is my 24th birthday present!

It has been a "spare" car from when it was new.
started its life as a dealership rental car for the first 20k miles of its life.

now with 133k on the clock it has been cared for as if it was the last car on earth.

I would hypermile this car coast to coast with no hesitation right now.

The plan / goal for this car is to make it a highway mpg winner.

40MPG at 65MPH
(same as a 09" 2.5L jetta)

Not sure if you noticed... but it's an auto...

What's the plan here?

the plan is to make it aero enough to get 40mpg with ac at 65mph for long highway trips to OBX

if that is possible at all I'm not sure, we will see.

My normal drives to work are 9 miles each way with a top speed of 55mph.

I actually really like this car and I think I will keep it for a few years

Rated around 31mpg highway. You should be able to reach your goal with the aero mods planned. Corsicas were good, reliable cars as I remember them, still see one every once in a while on the road. Are you getting rid of the KIA?

It is about time you posted the Corsica up Dave!

The KIA is going to be gone soon lots of neglected repair I dont have the $$$ to put into it.

Just waiting on paperwork to clear and I can start driving the Corsica. Its just parked at the house for now. needs a good bath and the tires pumped up a bit, should be ready to roll.

And yes we will get some aero started at the VA river meet 2015!!
I have some stuff too. It should be fun!

Well it looks like my goals arent too wild!

Fourm member abogart got some decent MPG in his corsica. and he has the 3.1!!!!
EcoCorsica Fuel Economy

Looks like he had some luck using E85 blends too

BoNe-MD had a Corsica with a 3.1 too. (Corsica the Corsair)
This doesn't look as good as abogart's fuel log, but once he got 35MPG!

Subbed.

The 4T40E 4-speed was available in that car, it should drop in.

That's a very easy thing to say from a keyboard with no car hanging over my face.

I liked the Corsica as the natural follow-on to the Citation, which has received much hatred in the motoring press even though it was heavily hyped at its introduction and, briefly, respected.
