That particular page was about "alloy wheels" which in the common vernacular means aluminum/magnesium based wheels. Consumers being easily swayed by fancy terms like "alloy" and marketers being oblivious to the fact that the steel wheels already were alloy.
Of course iron alloys are reasonably well summarized in wikipedia as well:

1) There are words that SOUND the same, but have different meanings.
2) There are words that SPELL the same, but have different meanings
LEAD = as in to lead the way
LEAD = as in plumbum (Latin) metal
LEED = as in city of LEEDS.
SEW = as in sew with needle & thread
SOW = as to spread one's sperm
SO = as in "so what"
SOW = as in female pig

This thread just makes me think of people going to ATM MACHINES. I can't help it.
"You're going to an automatic teller machine machine? What's that?"
At one of my jobs, we have an identification number. The abbreviation is LLN (letter, letter, Number)- yet people constantly say "my LLN Number." I can't help it.
"Your letter letter number number? What's that?"
