I don't have a dedicated build thread. But you can look through my threads for info on various mods to the car.

Looks like all motor no capacitors
If so,then the motor will handle 12v ..

what duse the controller system look like ??
any capasitors ?
What voltage are they listed 5v 16v???
What stops the shutters from rotating past open and closed? ?
if capasitors are marked as 14.7v or higher , then plug it in add a choke cable (to activate it) and done?

if marked as 5v, then use a cell phone charger as a power supply ... ...

If the vent has make or break contacts for stops then you can just add a toggle switch and flip between positions

DAKOTA digital PART# DAK PAC 2750
This canbe used with any electronic temperature gauge including stock(as per Summit racing)

GlowShift Elite 10 Color Water Temperature Gauge

this one(complete gauge set) has programmable warning lights... instead of turning on and off lights use it to open and close the shutters, fans

in the rc( remote control) world your capacitors are the limiters run the same dc 55turn 550 with 4v through 24v (1cell lipo -6cell lipo)

Anybody seen Vent-Miser in the San Francisco Bay Area of California?

Anybody seen this in the San Francisco Bay Area of California?
I am very interested to try it.

At what price was it sold in New York?

[QUOTE=Gasoline Fumes;445108]These vents have a pair of plastic shutters that are actuated by a small DC motor. Perfect for an automated grill block! But being a motor, they need only a short electrical pulse to move. You can't feed them continuous power. The timer takes 2 AAA batteries, so I assume the motor gets about 3 volts. It works fine on 1.2v. I wouldn't try 12v! Some weatherproofing for the motor will be necessary. The shutter area is about 4" x 9". I'll try one first, maybe that'll be enough airflow. I usually have a smaller grill opening than that.

I bought a bunch. I'll make a post in the classifieds if anybody else wants to play with one. Or if you're in Upstate NY, look for Real Deals Dollar Stores!
