Thumbs up Aero mods for Honda Coupes??

Does it get any better than this?!?!?

Looks they they used every trick in the ECOModder book!

Proof in the pudding: The Lucas Oil Honda Civic - World's Fastest CiViC

Quote:
Piloting the Lucas Oil Honda Civic, Richard Holdener blistered the salt by running a two-way average of 207.5 mph. Running in the Blown Gas Competition Coupe class, the turbocharged Civic bettered the old record (set in 1991) of 196.124 mph by over 11 mph.

one might assume the interior is a bit stripped as well

looks nice, and surprisingly 'stock'... you could still do your shopping in it.
should be something carmakers have a long hard loor at when they design another car

WOW!!! I might actually do some of that stuff on my 2000 Civic!

You missed the covers for the fake vents on the front bumper.

You and me both on my 2004,
looks like they also removed the wipers,
guess they didn't need them in the desert

Wonder what that is going up and over the roof,
aero mods, or bracing for the rear deck spoiler or roll cage.

"Though the engine has produced as much as 728 hp at 29 psi of boost, the boost was run at only 13-14 psi for the record runs. Holdener added,” We purposely ran the boost, air/fuel and timing at conservative levels. The aero package on the car worked so well that it took very little power to achieve these impressive speeds."

The inner two do look like reinforcement straps. They're on the back window, as well. Maybe to keep the roof from deforming and the rear window popping out?

The outer two on the roof look like fences. Looks like they're trying to control some boundry layer from flowing off the sides. Wonder if they tuft-tested it.

Where ya been, BDC? We missed ya.

The 2 middle ones look like glass retention devices. The outer fences are probably to prevent lift so it won't flip over if it turns sideways at high speed.

Thanks, mang!

Well, I got off to a bad start here...

LoL!

I'm usually the most loved and most hated on any site I'm on - all at the same time. ECOModder is no different.

Sooo... I decided to delete all my messages, my 'friends list', get out of Dodge for a while, and start anew.

Hopefully it'll go smoother this time!

the strips on the roof are like the ones used in nascar, they use it so if a car wants to spin it creates down force along with 2 flaps on the rear of the roof.

Gald to see another h-t over here, hopefully i can get my c-west bumper done soon, im modding it to be completely closed off and try and make it follow the curve of the headlights and hood, not sure if that will work but hopefully i can make it happen!

Word to the wise...

I've been on h-t for 7 years with only a couple of 'infractions'. ECOModder threatened to ban me in 1 month, sooo...

Be careful out there!
