I extended my shop area out a bit. It's covered. And I dug a shallow grave of 6-feet by 3-ft,a foot deep which is my new 'Hydraulic lift.' I'll be able to do all the lube servicing and belly pan work 'indoors' now.

That sounds like a major deal to me. I'd still like to get myself to Bonneville; but if it falls through , I'll kick something in at the last minute.
Ammo boxes?

update
*I renewed the headlight covers and both have already fractured.I may make a set of aluminum covers for the tunnel, and just run the plastic with tape if I can't find time to redo those.
*Hood blister passenger side 'wing' is restored and okay so far.
*got two additional wheels in S-E Fort Worth Tuesday $108.00.
*Ordered tires Tuesday afternoon and they came in Wednesday AM.
*Got tires mounted and on T-100 Wednesday late morning $309.00
*The tires are Bridgestone Dueller L/H Allenza LRR 235/75 R 15,44-psi.
*Today I used new pit for first time (it's flooded here twice so far) and got the diffuser back on.
*I'll GUNK the rest of bellypan tonight and work on reattachment tomorrow.
*Gary,my friend from college got a pass from his femmebot, and she's gonna let him come over to Ogden to see the Darko tunnel test and a couple of days of Bonneville.

Phil, do you mind sharing what you plan on doing in the wind tunnel? You mentioned a friend coming to watch the test, do you have any available assistants?

*we'll measure the drag and lift forces
*and blow smoke over it for videotaping
*I was gonna be chief cook and bottle washer, but Gary can help me keep focused,as I'll probably be a basket case by the time I get there.
*I don't know what Darko's policy is about assistants
'guess I better ask.

They should have a floor-to-ceiling picture window, with stadium seating.

You laugh!
If I lived near Ogden or Mooresville,NC,Omni Max Theaters would have some real competition.I'd pay a premium to be able to observe tunnel sessions.
And yes,I need a 12-step program.

update
*new skirt is painted. Will color-sand,do finishing compound, then stripe.
*have been cleaning,color-sanding other sections, and doing 3M micro-fine finishing compound.
*Cleaner-wax for OEM paint surfaces.
*should have soldering finished tomorrow.
*I may install the tail and stinger tomorrow to work out a pothole-proof attachment strategy.
*The poco-loco stinger and rear wheel fairings are double block-coated and have foamed the lunar craters. Will spot in polyester resin and move towards spot-painting.
*when I do oil and filter,I'm going to modify the second-tier belly pan section for a central extractor opening like Ferrari has used.
*The poco-loco bedcover needs some TLC where the plywood has been disintegrating.
*am working on 'Spirit of Ecomodder.com' graphics. We'll use the self-stick vinyl sign material for these.
*with the new Bridgestone rear tires, she's turning around 2,250 rpm @ 65-mph.This will be my target speed for the trip.I'll just stay in the slow lane.(you'd expect that for a girly-man pickup )
*There's a lot of non-aero activities which must also be addressed before departure.
*I'll leave here the morning of Sept. 1,make Santa Rosa,NM for the 1st night camping.
*Green River,UT for the second night.
*and get into Ogden for a motel room Sept. 3rd.Ogden Sleep Inn.
*If all this happens, then it's Darko Technologies the next afternoon.
*a 3-ring circus in logistics!
*overnight lows are pretty high, and triple-digits for highs.I'll have to work fast with the fiberglass!

a heads up
After this coming Saturday I'll be away from the computer until I can find a public library out there somewhere.
When I get to Darko,I'm not sure what to tell Doug Tinney about what all you philanthropists have been up to,and how he'll receive the funds.
'Could use a heads up.
Thanks.
Things are progressing.Lots of little baby steps.
