Thanks again!*
I do think it will help.Short of dedicated exit ducts its a way to blend the exhausting air with the side stream.
Here's a link to Peugeot's VERA concept which also used the radii.

Really amazing to see a non-hybrid car that I know is being driven as a daily where the LOW fuel economy number on its graph is 71.43 mpg. Wow.

Wow, this really sets the bar high! What an inspiration! Makes me feel like my White Gnat and I are really slacking with nothing higher than 62 mpg on record (and while not driving fast enough to keep up with traffic, either).

Very, VERY well done!!!

Here's my CRX project.I've made it to the center image. From Bonneville,Chrysler Proving Grounds, and mpg she's estimated at Cd 0.235.
I'd like to get to the 3rd iteration, which includes an active, inflatable stinger for the boat tail.

These tails are what Hucho says will help get us to the Cds of basic bodies (0.15).With further integration of the tires into the body, the Cds can approach those of the basic body without wheels (Cd 0.07-0.09).
Cambridge University is getting Cd 0.10 with their 2013 CUER.
The NUNA series cars are down to Cd 0.07 or so.
Here's the development of the 'Kamm' car

My Dad, the owner of the "MULE VX" from this thread, also has a 1988 CRX HF that I would love to put a boat tail on. How far above the rearmost part of the body does the template pass?

Sorry everyone, if there is confusion. Some of the above posts are copied-and-pasted from emails from my Dad, "The donkey Crx." We will get him posting here soon.

Thanks for the pictures. We own both an 88 and 89 CRX HF. One will be my next aero project. I sure hope to see updates on*your CRX*project and hope you don't mind me copying some of your ideas.

Ecotex found the 1988 CRX HF under a tarp in a friend's back yard that had a blown head gasket. It had sat there for 7 years. He got it running and back on the road and thus started the family love for HF's and VX's.

My user name here on Ecommoder is The donkey CRX as it was the only one we owned when I started coming to this site.

One thought for "fixing" the "fast" rear departure would be to remove the rear glass and build up a new frame for it that was lifted at the bottom to match the template. Do you think that approach has any merit? Don't worry about hurting my feelings, because I am confident you can save me *valuable time and effort with your experience.

On a another note, I started my version of the WHEELHOUSE DEPARTURE Radii. I hope to get Ecotex to post some pictures soon.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction on that project
