I wish I'd seen this video before... I would have been better informed making my purchase decision!

Wow... never realized you had to move the roof by hand... that gives all the more reason to make some type of hard top with a tear drop extension!

Yeah - the top is manual. So were the early Miatas (and other small convertibles, probably).
I drove a 1st gen Miata, and one cool thing about it was you could raise/lower the top from the driver's seat. Unfortunately, it's not possible to raise the Metro top while sitting in the car. And I think it's only possible (or "easy") to lower it from inside if you aren't using the hard plastic covers that hide the top when it's down.

I'm sure you still have some left-over forklift motors around you could use to power-ize it!

Those plastic covers are for the showroom only. Once you own the car, just throw them away.

I bet that attitude has annoyed anyone who is trying to accurately restore one, too.
I hate it when people throw away parts like that.

Early 90's Mercury Capri convertibles were 100% manual too.

Wasn't there a 90's 'vert with a crank handle top?

You mean a top that went up and down via something like a window crank?
I don't know of one.
