The whole thread can't be taken seriously. Thanks for the chuckle.

I'm curious to the science behind this, since to my knowledge molecules of gasoline aren't magnetic?

No scientific arguments in support of magnets affecting fuel mileage have been hypothesized.

AJI, There are no tests for or against magnetic treatment of hydrocarbons. That's why this thread is in the Unicorn section.
This is a fly by seat of your pants experiment, no testing equipment or guidlines. So if your inclined to experiment you will be starting from scratch.
I can only say I tried it and it made a difference for me.

Lies sprinkled with bullcrap. Hondo, your results are likely the result of cognitive dissonance mixed with placebo effect. I guarantee that you would find no difference in a long term blind test.

I need to also remind the readers that there very well ARE guidelines how to test, and the equipment can be as simple as your odometer and the gas pump (and patience and consistency).
http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...ery-11445.html

Also everyone I know who has diligently tested it has said it doesn't do anything.

putting the magnets on my intake tube had a profound effect....the car barely wanted to run! I think the magnets are still on my fuel line, but it's irrelevant, considering the engine is dying and burning oil like a Saudi oil well in 1991.

I blame the placebo effect for all of it. My wife and I already were trying to economically drive our vehicles before I tried the magnets hondo graciously sent me. And it apparently made no difference. I just hate to see a kind hearted man getting sucked into what is a virtual sugar pill.

I'm experimenting using magnets to attach Coroplast to make a kammback on my Aygo - the hatch is glass (no metal) and the car is new so tape or drilling is not practical. A strong magnet each side of the glass might just do it. The first magnets I got are not strong enough though so saving for some larger / stronger ones.
