that's why the birth rate was so much higher for the middle class back then. only took about 3 to 5 years to train your "remote". The "remote" only worked for a few years, then it entered puberty. So smart TV viewers would have another "remote" early so that when the previous one quit working the next would be ready. Twins were nice because you could have a remote and an automatic antennae adjustment.

Don't you mean an actual antenna? Nothing says "love and devotion" quite like standing with one hand on the TV antenna, one leg out at 45 degrees and one arm pointed west (or east) just so Dad can watch the game.

I guess they are OK...as long as we keep them caged? And feed them some chicken now and then....

This thread is the best entertainment yet

The magnet on or near the engine control systems brings up an alternating theory:

A wire or wires vibrating near a magnet. Wonder if a fuel injector wire set could do that... If it did, then a resulting current would be induced. That will likely never have enough current to open an injector, but it could easily keep an injector open, for some infinitesimal time longer than the ECU intended. A rich condition could be detected by the O2 sensor. The ECU would reduce the pulse width, leaning out the engine, at least a mild lean condition on the other cyclinders.
A TPS or temp sensor could be getting an alternating signal. More bad signals for the ECU to sort out.
Magnets, near vibrating wires, is not the type of thing I would do to MOD my car.
A more plausible explaination would be a cleaner or cleaned cat. Cleaner or cleaned O2 sensors. Just those two simple things can result in a car "Acting" like new again.

Ever notice that most MPG+ scam products tell you to slow down and eliminate jack rabbit starts?

Kind of like the magic diet pill bottle that tells you to exercise and eat right.

irony

If they threw the magnets away, and just sold the packaging, they would have a real and valuable product to sell. Be honest thought; if you paid for a "MPG+" package, read it, and found everything you already knew, would you want your money back?

Current corporate culture is to make the biggest buck the fastest. We have to be more diligent. Remember the saying about 'The fool and his money...'

"Replace your beat-up old O2 sensors and advance your timing 12 degrees and we guarantee that our device will save you gas!" - Oh lordy, that's a classic.

My offer to fit super strong magnets to my roof still stands - I will point them from Scotland towards the colonies so anyone there travelling East will get a benefit, but anyone going west - well, you only have yourselves to blame.

I just need enough subscribers to offset the costs.
