If you type in "do magnets increase fuel economy?" in Google this thread is the first thing that comes up.

Magnets on the fuel line makes sense since gasoline is ferrous right?

I've heard that computer hard drives work much more efficiently if you put neodymium magnets all over them. I heard it arranges all of the bits the same way so the computer can read the drive super quick!

You'd want to ensure that the bits are all aligned along with the rotational direction. If the bits are all aligned against the rotational direction, you'll actually slow down the hard drive platters!

I bought some magnets manufactured below the equator to install on my fuel line. While my mileage increased, my car started pulling to the left because I hadn't taken into account the opposite free electron flow in sub-equatorial valance rings. A fool and his money were soon parted.

The reports said the vehicle pulled to the left when they drove east... It would pull to the right when they drove west.... Strangest thing
