I like their hatch tent.

Aptera has successfully raised over a half-million dollars through the crowd-investing site WeFunder. Over a thousand people were part of the investment round in the reborn electric vehicle company before the fledgling automaker really gets busy this coming year. It has promised to start delivering its hyper-efficient EV in 2021 with a starting cost between $34,000 and $59,000. In the funding documents, Aptera says those vehicles will have a per-unit initial target cost of between $21,000 and $36,000.

Still definitely not sold on this design decision.
If they would have used a traditional motor it would save about $10,000 off the price.

Poor decision on multiple levels

Good ol' Aptera. Some things will never change.

So they raised a bunch of money and haven't built anything. I'm expecting them to not build anything, file for bankruptcy and sell to china.

Maybe a bit off topic to comment on human social communication patterns .. but .. I understand it is common for many people to make this style of deliberately false claim .. What I don't understand , is what is the appeal of doing so ?

Similarly .. In this same kind of style .. when some people know there is a way to do something .. maybe not the way they like .. maybe not an easy way .. but instead they make a deliberately false claim that it is 'impossible' .. when they know that it is possible.

Or they know they can actually do something .. but it's difficult , unpleasant , expensive , etc .. so they instead make a deliberately false claim using absolute language , that they "Can't do it".

It seems kind of similar to over generalizing .. but taken even further .. like there is some inherent appeal to using absolute terms incorrectly for when it is known that it's a non-absolute condition .. like impossible , anything , nothing , ever , never , etc.

Unpossible

Though it’s a recent trend to be overly negative, it’s intoxicating considering how many times these things don’t come to fruition.

I think it’s different this time but...
The temptation for scope creep and to stay on the pot must be irresistible.

Cant fail if you don’t start.

If you're attempting to sway opinion, you need to put a full stop on negative speculation, hence the term impossible and similies. If someone in authority tells you it's impossible, most people go "ok, nothing to see here".

Sorry dyslexic day.

I'm no expert and don't pretend to be. I'd like Apteral to succeed but have no way of knowing if they will or not.

Just a question. Who's Sandy Munroe and does what he say about the company have any weight?

I'm going to say they can't do it because if it was as easy as they thought it would be it would have worked out the first time.
Their track record is on my side.
