Your average motorcycle also gets about the same fuel consumption as your average sedan of around 35 to 40 mpg. We might as well as start comparing the car to a pickup truck or SUV while we're at it.

It's a battle between frontal area and shadow area.

And the sky is chartreuse.

Just stating something isn't proof.

On the other hand you're right. If you lay some solar panels on the ground and try to ride them you won't get very far. The same can be said of electric motors, batteries and wheels, unless you put them altogether on a vehicle of course

Please tell me you didn't just try to compare one of the dirtyest aerodynamically vehicles [motorcycles] to an Aptera!

Aptera1 the original failed gasoline powered one was only claiming 70mpg on the highway.
You are right I shouldn't compare things that actually exist to things that dont.
I don't believe 10 miles per kwh claim at use able speed at all because they appear have several working prototypes. I see only 2 possibilities for this.
1 the most likely cause, they can only hit 10 miles per kwh at embarrassing golf cart speed and they know it.
2 it won't run for long enough to prove it can do 10 miles per kwh even in a controlled environment which would be catastrophic.
Otherwise it should be a very easy to prove claim.

And no one is offering any good or compelling reasons why solar cells should be wasted by putting them on a vehicle.

Where did you pull that number from? Their aggressive driving numbers?

If on the other hand, the car were never plugged in, the Aptera 2h would get 130 miles per US gallon (1.8 l/100 km).

Wikipedia says the Aptera gets 2.2 times the range per kwh compared to the leaf. My leaf gets between 3.3 and 4.5 miles per kwh. So best case scenario it just barely gets 10 miles per kwh some times in real world driving.
One of the original concepts was gas only, the one they actually could have made was supposed to get at least 70mpg. If they are going to make them now is the time. Gas is at all time record highs and the tone deaf, inept, brain rotted administration just canceled gulf of Mexico and Alaska oil lease sales for this year. So they are tripling down on stupid in an effort to force people to buy things like the Aptera. If they can't do it now they might as well give up already.
