Sometimes it's quite annoying when some random a**hole asks me if some random celebretard I dislike is my relative. The few times it happened, the one asking was of a political spectrum I disagree, which makes it more annoying.

I caught a ride wth IIRC J. T. Jesse Fittpaldi said that if they want to offer wheel and tire options, the wheel and the tire must be certified together. So I guess BMW i3 tires on Model A rims comes after the warranty expires.

They went with something from the MEIV parts bin, but hope to cut [redacted] pounds of unsprung weight in the future. 3D printed A-arms are off the table. Too fragile.

A light-weight aluminum cycle fender would weigh less.

Mud and gravel in the things adding weight and making weird noise when you least needed it, much more painful to pack wheel bearings, change tires, check brake pads (or change them), and trying to keep those unfamiliar with planes from stepping on them to climb in the plane.

Parametric design sucks all the safety margin out of the part, apparently.

Yeah, if it could be all one piece with no welds, it might do well. But it would have to be seriously formed.

I can't find a picture, but you just bend a strip of aluminum over a half-circular form and then have a roller on an arm that stretches as it passed back and forth. Like a bead roller.

The bracket could be 3d printed.

There might be fewer spots where the parts could break under severe stress, as there would be fewer discontinuities making it harder to distribute and buffer some impacts more easily.
