Their timeline doesn’t get them up to that quantity for a couple years. My guess is it will take several years before there’s enough demand. Maybe if they license it to other countries?

This is speculation, but with the twin motors and software they should be able to skid-steer. The rear wheel would resist that, but it would preload the handlebars.
Let the record show there is an FUV Owner's forum. According to this Facebook has a hook for their surveillance as well.

Would need dead accurate speed sensors on both wheels. Nothing like flying down the highway, making a slight correction in input, and having one of your wheels go into reverse.
Adding a steering motor should be relatively easy/cheap.

Speaking of the department of redundancy department, adding a third coil-over ala Koenigsegg would allow them to decouple the spring and roll rates.
Going into reverse while flying down the freeway would be a software problem.

The steering was heavy on the test drive, and John mentioned that other models aren't so heavy. Still, it would be difficult for some people to wrestle control at low speeds.

I took a spin a few months back. My assessment was that the ride was harsh, as you might expect with the sprung/unsprung mass ratio, but the transient response was good (low center of gravity and low tire sidewall). Needs an air-bagged option.

Software is at the mercy of its inputs though. Faulty hardware can certainly cause software to make poor decisions. Some recent 737 crashes come to mind.

Plane crashes fascinate me because it's almost always a series of highly unlikely events that leads up to a fantastically unlikely crash, yet they happen. Many, if not most, could have been easily prevented by the pilot "flying the plane", or at least relying on alternate instrumentation to determine the state of the aircraft.
I'll have to watch later when I've got more time.
The radiation therapy machines at hospitals used optical sensors to determine position, but fuzz would end up fouling up the sensor and cause a fault. They are being replaced by hall-effect sensors, which should improve uptime.

I wish someone like the good folks at Arcimoto has an over four-year head start, like Tesla, but as far as I know, neither Archie nor Moto are billionaires.
I am sure there are advantages.
Tesla is shaking up everything, but they are not contributing to freebeard getting an EV.
Does anyone know why my phone likes to zoom in all the way when I try to highlight a word?

If I'd done a same-day sale of Symantec stock for Apple stock, I'd be driving a Tesla today. Instead I bought a Volkswagen motor and a mattress.

You mean Arc and Imoto? They've been at it for a decade and they have a publicly traded stock.
