Makes no sense to me. Trikes are suppose to be about cheap transport - the whole purpose of a trike it so you can save money by not needing to meet car safety and emission standards. Then you take this cheap vehicle and at least double the cost to make it autonomous?

It's an entre to the market. Right-sizing... Utility... Fun... Fleet vehicles... warehouses, fire departments, police... ride sharing... things you and I haven't thought of... Spec racing classes!

They are maintaining an autonomous-ready stance and have since the beginning. My money is on George Hotz.

I'm in when the spec racing class begins. That "not a roll cage" will need to become a roll cage though.

Why would any of those need autonomous capability except maybe rideshares?

How are any of those done better with a trike instead of a 4 wheel vehicle?

Comma.AI appears to add Level 2 functionality to some supported cars. That is nowhere near real autonomous driving.

I believe regeneration is muted or stopped entirely with full ABS engagement.

Not really clear on how the DSC works, but I know the drivetrain component is completely separate in operation. So I don't think there is any torque vectoring going on.

Just for putting around town, I'd like a pyramidal anti-intrusion bar added on the left side. And an Eagle door on the right.

The Apterafolk claim their aerodynamic drag is the same as just the windshield wipers on a truck:

I'm looking at those front A-arms. Color me skeptical.

Freebeard: a 11/16" 6 point deep socket is a couple of thou off 17 mm. Good enough for tire lugs

Thanks. I'm not even sure, the 17 was a loose fit. Online sources say 10mm, that's likely the stud, not the nut.

I should ask on Ecomodder....

Or I could just get out the Metro's lug wrench.

I'd start with a complete set of SAE and metric deep socket impact sockets, but then I'm the type wanting to always be prepared to fix common issues with people's vehicles.

There's a fine line between being a tool/parts hoarder, and simply being helpful/prepared. Not sure what side of that line I'm on, but I did have one of those micro fuses some cars have these days when the neighbor's boyfriend blew his stereo circuit. If you buy them in advance, you can get a whole box of assorted ones for nearly the price you'd pay for a single fuse at the parts store.

There's no doubt which side I'm on.

But for my brother's birthday, I let go of a 1960s Sioux angle-drive drill motor like-new in the original case. (it was too nice to use anyway)
