this first turbo is 1749V which is only good to go max 135 hp range. I will install 1749VA later to meet that 144 hp power target need.

I havent yet driven the car with this new turbo or engine. Just cruised on the yard. 1749V or 1749 VA should "wake" up around 2000 rpm.

His facebook page is set to "public" so anyone with an internet connection and a browser can see it, photos and all. Here is the link to the main page https://www.facebook.com/ekotuning?fref=photo

And here is another of the quite cool project photos. Nice work, like some of the best cars on EM.

ok your BV35 is the KKK7BorgWarner equivalent to Garret 1749V VNT15 VGT Turbo.

those power ranges came from experience, from maxpower of common chip tuners or from calculations according the characteristic map or specification of the turbo itself?

that dyno setup was with bv35. Now I have that garrett 1749V

Power ranges come from 1.9 tdi dyno results and some 1.4tdi. 1749VA should be able easily give that 144hp which is my target.

on that 1.2 tdi howercraft project 1749va wakes around 2000 rpm

Lets try to keep this topic on the A8 there is other topic on that A2 lightweigth project here...

This bad ass A8 is on the road and already crushing some records. Best fuel consumption so far is
4.24 L/100 km
55.55 mpg (US)
66.66 mpg (Imp)
1.8 gal (US)/100 mi
606.69 Wh/mi

What you should be comparing the car are these other A8 on the road.
http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/overvi...ml?powerunit=2

So everyhting is looking nice conserning the 3 liter fuel consumption target as. Next some aerodynamic mods like grill blocking and smooth underside paneling and this should go to about 3.7-3.9 on next 25 liter test tank easily as this current best had some unnecessary acceleration and 50 km of traffic light driving which really hurts the FE in big car like this.

Also the ECU tuning needs to be fixed to this heavier body car and bigger turbo. At the moment there is lot of black smoke coming in bigger uphills as the ecu map drops out of efficient tuning "map" to acceleration map.

Yes current fuel consumption figures just on diesel and the ecu is not yet finetuned to this car so it will get much better after its done and ofcourse the aerodynamics modifed more.
